Now, 3 weeks after the catastrophic flooding events in Belgium |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79465912 Germany 08/08/2021 09:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Now, 3 weeks after the catastrophic flooding events in Belgium Today in the Belgian news they were saying that finally, in Pepinster and in Chaudfontaine - some of the hardest hit places where the floods caused so much destruction in mid-July - field kitchens were installed (by the Red Cross, as I understand - another big issue in Belgium as for at least a week, NO Belgian Red Cross was to be seen anywhere and the only help given to the inhabitants of the worst hit zones was given by volunteers although the Israel Red Cross was there helping out with its limited means).
Get that? Now, 3 weeks later, this is what they are telling us in the TV journal. Field kitchen are organized because the inhabitants have no means of cooking food. Which they haven't had for 3 weeks.
Something very wrong there...
WHAT was so much more important than sending the needed people to those regions RIGHT after the flooding disaster? |

interesting..
Quoting: fixxxer Isn't it? Letting disaster victims (in BELGIUM, not in some third world country) wait for 3 weeks... makes you think. It's almost like some sort of statement from the government: YOU are not the people we care about. |

Takes time and funding to organize an effort, whereas Red Cross - that’s what they do all the time. |

Quoting: 936432979 Do you remember the "Belgian Rambo" Jürgen Conings not long ago? Immediately the Belgian army was mobilized and even German units were participating in the effort to find him. Here we have thousands of people have lost their homes and everything and just being left to rot on their own apart from some private volunteers. |

The news anchor was actually saying the army is GOING to coordinate the food distribution, and "the army is ALREADY on location to see... etc. etc. I think the use of the word "already" is a slap in the face of the victims. |
