I just don't see how an explosion that big happens unless munitions were involved. Don't know about a mini nuke but a serious fuck-ton of tnt. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80571574 I do recall a rocket fuel plant going up like that but we're talking rocket fuel here. An aluminum plant? come on man! powdered aluminum is powerful stuff. ^^This Aluminum shavings from saw's is very flammable |

Its an oxymoron so others reading think you are smart. Your not. Call it a big unknown explosion. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78113985 Quit crying and get scared. |

From the postings it doesn't appear so. *Plant is located next to a river. *Major flood. (it is flooding in China right now in case nobody noticed) *They evacuated the plant. *Flood wall around the plant collapsed letting the flood water in all at once. *Flood Water hit the smelting area all at once *KABOOM!! *So far NO injuries reported since they had evacuated the plant. |

They were setting off test nukes all the time when I was a kid. Dozens of them! Also, you used a double negative, so it's a bit ironic that you are calling other people "not smart". (No one.. has never), means that everyone has seen a nuke detonate. Last Edited by JustmeTX on 07/20/2021 08:11 PM Justme |

The ferocity of that explosion, with multiple visible shock waves, and white hot explosion tells me that explosion was caused by high speed explosives, or a gas with a lot of double bonds in it, like ethylene, or butadiene. Damn sure was not steam coming off water hitting molten aluminum. Thermite from aluminum shavings and rust does not explode. It burns fierce as hell, but no explosions, sorry. Smelting Aluminum from it's Ore is an Electrolysis Process. There is no "molten" aluminum in the separation of Aluminum from it's ore. . |

Citizen, you are misinformed. The Ministry of Truth has confirmed there was an explosion but no damage or injuries at the aluminum factory. In addition, the Ministry of Plenty has just issued a categorical pledge that there will be no reduction of the aluminum ration for the current year. |

I can assure you there are people still alive from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, some of the survivors were children and remember the flash. I am also sure we have all seen how nuclear bombs explode, Some of us were brought up during the Cold War and they could not help but show us that one house getting blown to bits over and over on a loop. |

Agree, I wonder if aluminum powder was involved minor smelting furnace explosion due to water traveled next door to 500 tons of stored aluminum powder. And yes the Chinese code would allow furnace facility to be one cinderblock wall away from the storage of explosives. Add some butane and other gases and boom. Seeker 2 |

They only stopped testing nukes, they being the military, in 1992. There are ALOT of people alive who have seen nukes detonated. Stop attempting to sound smart. |
