You're assuming that people can read today, op.

I never make that assumption.

There can be several reasons for this.
1. They want your item off ebay even if it's just a few hours so their similar item has a chance to sell.
2. They are hoping that you'll just ship it anyway
3. They are actually dumb and don't read descriptions.
The only fix which has already been stated is to mark in one of the photos LOCAL PICKUP ONLY.
Your better off using fb market place or craigslist for local listings.

Maybe you should put in the title "LOCAL PICKUP" so it's a lot more obvious to the people who are skimming fast.

I guess you can be frustrated that they didn't look at the shipping option but you shouldn't be frustrated that they're not paying for it if they have no way to come pick it up from you. Just have them send a cancellation request it's not that big of a deal.

If it's at all possible for you to ship you're insanely more likely to sell it.

Pirate ship is great if it's heavy but it's not too big because they charge you for the size of the box not weight (if its under 20 lbs). For example a 19 lb package can cost $13 instead of $60 to ship in a box that is 12"x10"x6". And it is still USPS Priority Mail.

You can have USPS come pick it up off your porch by doing a pickup request online if you don't want to drive to the post office.

If its an anvil lmk. Fucking things are rare.

I tried to sell locally on a world market and complained about some random joe from across the globe who realized some dumbass wasn't shipping like 99% of everyone else on the website,so I decided to cry like a bitch on the least relevant social platform I know, that way I can continue on with my meaningless life and nobody that matters will know.

My advice would be just charge for shipping. Almost everyone hates that local pickup only crap.

next time it happens dont cancel the thingy, instead find out where the buyer lives. then find an apartment within one or two blocks of where the buyer lives. rent out the apartment and move all yore stuff there. then simply tell the buyer yore new address so they can come around and do the local pickup!!! everybody gets exactly what they want! you get to sell it on local pickup and they get the item whatever it is!!! see its really simple to solve problems if you just put a bit of thoughts into it!!
