Ten year yield just hit 1.75% Quoting: fiftybagger This could be the end of a 40 year bull market in bonds/40 year bear market in rates. https://imgur.com/mkxptRH Is there a simple way to explain it to me like I'm stupid? I've got a gap in my understanding of how bonds interact with the overall market. When bond prices fall interest rates rise. Rising interest rates reward savers and punish spenders which depress stock prices and the economy. This can become a vicious circle as bonds, stocks, and the dollar all collapse together. e.g. the 1970s Thank you! |

Seems like the worst rates were when they were dropping like its hot in the prime of 'Rona. Tell me, oh wise armchair economists of GLP, where should rates be to be healthy? Were they not healthy in 2019/1q-2020? Just get ready to be excited if it goes up further from here. Mr. Tickles |

People move into bond when interest rates go up and out of metals because of a better yield. Quoting: mondali2 Institutional investors do that when rates are raising because of a strengthening economy & faith in the Government to make good on those bonds. What we see happening here is rates rising because of the increased RISK in buying bonds from a waffling Fed with hyperinflation in the near horizon & currency devaluation. The Fed raising rates to employ yield curve control does not inspire confidence in the bond market. No big players are moving "out" of metals or any other commodities. Neither are smart retail investors. |

I heard Schiff say its like taking blood from your right arm and infusing it into your left arm and spilling 90% along the way. Its not supposed to make sense. Just like our elections. We are in The Great Reset. America is to be brought down to the level of the rest of the world..or lower. We will be forced to use digital currencies soon. All this pumping of QE is meant to kick the can just a little a farther and squeeze every last drop of wealth from its people that actually work for it. |

People move into bond when interest rates go up and out of metals because of a better yield. Quoting: mondali2 Nope, look at the 1970s. Rates rose as did gold and silver throughout the decade. Volcker had to raise short term rates to 18 percent to stop inflation, and that's when the metals topped. Very high rates hurt gold and silver, but a rising rate trend is bullish for them because it indicates the market is anticipating inflation, and inflation is good for precious metals. We are at the END of a 40 year bear market in rates. A bull market in rates can last as long as a decade or possibly even 40 years too.
