Why not change the school hours? The time change is the hardest for children, telling them they have to go to bed an hour early and change the time they have to get up an hour early is not good for them and they do not like it, it is harder for their body sleep clock to adjust to the change. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80137608 Studies have shown that DST not only doesn't save energy it also causes an increase in heart attacks and other ailments. That's due to more people having to wake up an hour earlier than their internal biorhythm is accustomed to. DST was originally 6 months long, formally enacted into law during the 1960s, then increased to 7 months long during the 1990s and, more recently, extended to 8 months long today. Since DST doesn't save energy and is also a negative on human health, it's a win-win. It's like a combo of higher taxes for fighting climate change and a big dose of SARS-CoV-2. it all comes back to depopulation somehow Liberalism is totalitarianism with a human face – Thomas Sowell |

Never made sense to me then and now that I don't have to change, it definitely makes no sense why the states keep it going. It's all fun & games until the Dogman stands up Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy Shit! What a ride!" In times of trouble, I ask myself, "What would Sarah Conner do?" |

Never made sense to me then and now that I don't have to change, it definitely makes no sense why the states keep it going. When I was flying and making the landing announcement (for the correct time in the arrival city), we had to remember what states didn't change for Daylight Savings Time. I remember AZ, Hawaii, and Indiana. Then Indiana switched eventually. Can you imagine how confusing this was with some counties switching and others not? Indiana: Before 2006, most of Indiana did not observe Daylight Saving Time. However, some counties decided to use DST, creating confusion about what time it was around spring and fall. To avoid the confusion, Indiana passed a bill in 2005 ensuring that the entire state would use DST from April 2006, regardless of the time zone. Last Edited by nutmeg on 03/13/2021 04:20 PM |

I felt so badly for my daughter when this girl would brag, "I have a speaking part, and you DON'T! Ha Ha Ha!" She did this frequently. Of course, I told my daughter not to feel badly. There were at least 20 children making their Holy Communion, and only two had speaking parts. The big day came....a Sunday. Shannon and her family didn't show up for the ceremony! That Sunday was the start of Daylight Savings Time, and they forgot to set their clocks ahead! I love it to this day! That little brat got a dose of karma! In those days, DST started at the end of April. In later years, they moved it up to March. When Daylight Savings Time comes every year, I think back to that day and smile! The daylight hours are unaffected by our adjusting of clocks. And we have these things called electric lights now, that make the precise time of sunrise and sunset rather unimportant. You don't need the sunlight to adjust the rigging on your horse now. You can adjust the rigging on your horse under the illumination of an electric light! Justme |
