...

no, nothing like that going on. just normal healthy lungs. i cycle over 20 miles every day. most of the time i have a smoke during the bike ride. i don't find it's a problem. i think people are confused, smoking doesn't make it hard the breath. the opposite happens. it's a bronchodilator.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52458716

yea that explains it

anytime i go for a jog i feel my lungs open up and a lot of body pains and tingling go away

i also feel the medical industry is a giant sham

my issue is i'm too lazy to go for a jog everyday lmao

more like a 2 times a week person with some yoga
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79094956

i think you know the answer.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52458716

exercise more or smoke less

i'll take the second one lmao
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79094956

but you know this is just a symptom of a general decline in health. the smoking effects you speak of are just a symptom of your main problem

eat more beef fat do more exercise. cut out all plant oils. plenty of salt and good quality water.

eat one main meal a day and enjoy life and use it or lose it.

Now I’m going to tell you what the hypnotist told my friend - who quit over a period of months from 2 1/2 packs a day and smoked 35 yrs

Don’t buy “your” brand

Ever again

There are studies to show you are addicted to the colors and logos too

As well as the special additive combo in it

Each purchase - you must buy a DIFFERENT BRAND

My friend purchased once a week

He got down to the odd colors of packaging - orange or neon or whatever

It took some of the expectations out

He smoked them - but much less

This took months

He ran out of other kinds

Bought filter less and organic

Then was ready to quit

It takes TIME to DETOX

Good luck

what effects of smoking are you feeling?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52458716

dull pains in back and chest

coughing bouts in the morning

tingling in arms and legs from lack of circulation

i do yoga and jog and it does bring relief

but then its just too much smoke and too harsh on the lungs

Make sure you take vitamin b and a couple grams of vitamin c a day since smoking depletes these. Hope you are successful. Anything is better than nothing. hf

Re: cutting down to 1 cig per day
I get off work @ 11 pm. When. I get home, I usually have one cocktail, and smoke a bowl, and sit and make music. Once the muse is satisfied, I have one cigarette, and go to bed.

Been doing this for about 18 months since the woman moved out and took my little daughter.

Sometimes I don't even have the cigarette.

Re: cutting down to 1 cig per day
trying this out

i can definately feel the effects of smoking 10+ cigs per day

but i don't want to quit completely

so i've been holding this one cig in my hand all day

been 16 hours since i smoked a cig

once every 24 hours can't be bad right?

just enough to stave off the cravings

i quit before for 4 years but started back, i still had cravings after that long

so i hold the cig in my hand pretending to smoke it and it actually works

I had the same idea until my stupid doctor told me one cig was as bad as a whole pack - a catalyst for cancer in any quantity.

Interesting. People do get addicted to certain brands. I’ve put generic cereal in name brand boxes and no one could tell the difference. In the generic box they wouldn’t have touched it. I’ve done this with other things as well. Some things you can tell a difference but mainly it is psychological.

I stopped smoking about 18 years ago at the age of 35. I was experiencing my left hand little finger and that 1/3 of my hand would tingle, go numb and this would last about an hour a few times a month and was a regular occurrence the last year or so of my smoking.
I was also having chronic sore throat. The ear, nose and throat Doc asked me do you smoke? He then said if you stop smoking your throat will stop hurting...
When I stopped I could tell after 3 days my hands felt different and my throat did stop hurting.
My hands and fingers have never been numb again after I stopped. I can't say I feel better as I did gain weight and cigs would give me a boost but no more numb hands.

Have you tried vaping? I used to smoke gave up due to health reasons. I’ve never tried vaping, looks messy?

That's how I quit, bought a juul. It is way easier and cleaner than analog cigs, lol. No fire, no ashes or trays.
I go through 1 pod every 2 days.

Re: cutting down to 1 cig per day
OP, I was a pack a day smoker from 17 to about 35 (now 44). I quit because I was sneaking out for cigs around my young kids.

Here's what worked for me: I stopped cold turkey, but about 2x a year I'll buy a pack and smoke 2-3 cigs then throw them out. For some reason I could never adjust to the thought of NEVER doing it again, so I smoke on occasion --like when I'm hanging with my old high school buds.

I do this with booze too.

I'd give your self one in the morning and one in the evening.

Establish that routine for 3 months.

Then quit.

It will be mostly effortless.

Re: cutting down to 1 cig per day
If you can sustain one a day buy some organic cigarettes and try to get off the tobacco completely. You won't even want more than one organic a day. I have maybe one a month now. They kick like a cigarette if you haul hard enough. I bought five packs of nirdosh off amazon I still have most of them.

It's called moderation. Sounds like your body has told you how much it can handle in a day. That's what I'm banking on anyway. We're all going to end up with cancer. Might as well enjoy things in moderation as long as you can.

Re: cutting down to 1 cig per day
You know how I quit - try the Viginia tobacco from Leaf Only - break it up in something like a electric coffee grinder, not too fine. And just roll one up old school style. You will realize that what makes cigarettes addictive is all the chemicals and added nicotine in commercial cigarettes.

Then you will be so disgusted with commercial cigarettes that you wont smoke them anymore. Also you will realize 100% is much more satisfying and you won't need to smoke so often.

Mix it with a little of their Turkish Tobacco.
