Ohio State Highway Patrol ‘aware and monitoring’ possible trucker protest Monday

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol says troopers are aware of possible disruption to the Monday morning commute after various social media posts from truckers threatened to protest on the road.

Various viral posts on social media suggested truckers could cause big issues on the road beginning at 7 a.m. The posts call for “slow rolls” or complete blockage over mask and vaccine mandates.

It seems almost everywhere I go, they are having some sort of labor shortage(post office, grocery stores, restaurants). The unemployment extensions ended at the beginning of September so, people should be forced to start heading back to work, but it's not happening. Dairy Queen in my area is closed Mondays until further notice because of worker shortages. A local pizza joint is having the same issue. The Postal Service is wildly hiring new people in my area. If people are just not working what are they even doing about money? Is the population being culled by the vaccine?

The mandates haven't even kicked in for private business so, people shouldn't have left those jobs yet. I am just curious what everyone's thoughts are on this subject.

Finally, Arby's would only let me have three ArbyQ sauce packets for two sandwiches today, citing supply chain issues. Now it's personal.

In other news, we took possession of our new house yesterday and spent the night in it. Still a long way to go to move everything from the old house and sell it, but we're on our way.
