If it’s an audio card, switch to motherboard audio, or vice versa.

If you broke the port off the board, regardless, it is practically unfixable. I’ve wasted a lot of time trying...

Buy the same board on Amazon and swap the broken one as a return.

EDIT: Looks like it’s just the headphone piece stuck. You got this!

Get a usb headphone jack.

Thanks! I want this thing pulled though so my speakers will work again.

Just as an aside, these are available:

But don't feel too bad about taking it to a repair shop. If you don't know much about computers, you can really muck them up attempting repairs.

The pros make mistakes too, but at least it's on their dime.

I'm actually an electronics engineer.

I just didn't feel like messing with it.

I'd rather take it in and have them pull it out.

Sure I could take it apart and fix it, but whatever.

I dont want to bother with it.

Use a paperclip with a tiny dot of superglue on it. than sick it to the jack, let is dry and pull it out. But be very careful with the glue.

That's why I'm just taking it to best buy.

I dont want to gunk up the port for later use.

I have money to do it.

I'd rather let pros handle it.

Time is money. I’d much rather pay someone else to do it, saving time for better things.

This is also how I learned to hate computers, after fixing them corporately for a living. I’d pay someone to fix my shit too if it saved me the hassle and I could drink a beer instead. Good on ya brother.

Just use an oxy and heat the port up, make sure the oxygen is turned down low, no need to get crazy...

I worked at BestBuy for 5 years. If a couple tries with a grip stick doesn't work, then they will try to talk you into buying Total Tech Support, and replace the motherboard.

There is a special tool. I am in pc repair and bought one but have yet to use it. It’s a tiny hallow tube with a slit up the side so you can go in around it, squeeze and pull it right out.

Op...Super Duper PC Fixer here (have my own business): is very simple. open up pc, disconnect all power cables... remove hard drive. throw that away. its in the way. remove video card using butterknife. throw that away too.. we going to replace that. now get in there with a soldering iron. snip all wires to jack. now solder the jack to a wire. pull. try that. 100% will work.

Re: So my son jumped up from the computer with his headphones plugged in and broke the thing off in the port.
Anyone experience this?

It's an $800 gaming computer and now it's got the headphone Jack broken off in the port.

I've tried to get it out, but no tools I have are small enough.

It won't play sound, it thinks the headphones are still plugged in.

Anyone have a fix for this?

Oh really? I didn't know that.

I will look into that for sure.

I cant get it out.

Watched a you tube video using super glue and a straw but I dont want to gunk up the port with glue.

I was looking for a set of micro tools.
 Quoting: ~Newton's Own~

What a loser. A guy tells you the perfect solution and you choose to continue with being a victim.

Cut the tooth pic in half with a pair of scissors to give you a wider flat surface. Put the superglue on this surface. It will soak into the wood leaving only sufficient glue on the surface. Press against the end of the headphone jack. Hold it for 5 minutes. Pull fast. You only need to impart an impulse to the jack for it to pop out.

If you use commonsense and don’t overload the tooth pic with glue this will fix the issue.
