So my son jumped up from the computer with his headphones plugged in and broke the thing off in the port.
Anyone experience this?

It's an $800 gaming computer and now it's got the headphone Jack broken off in the port.

I've tried to get it out, but no tools I have are small enough.

It won't play sound, it thinks the headphones are still plugged in.

Anyone have a fix for this?

Superglue a toothpick to the remaining portion in the port. After dries...pull it.

Oh really? I didn't know that.

I will look into that for sure.

I cant get it out.

Watched a you tube video using super glue and a straw but I dont want to gunk up the port with glue.

I was looking for a set of micro tools.

Hmmm..not this one.

I tried my smallest set of needle nose and even a Bobby pin but couldn5 grab it.

I bought some super glue.

May try that in a bit.

you could try been really careful here but stick something to whats left in the socket with superglue and it may be enough to pull it back out.

Be careful like only use enough to stick it on.

Check the hardware settings and disable the headset port.

Sound should still work for speakers, and you can worry about finding micro pliers another day.

I would try this before I went for glue

Take a BIC pen ink tube, insert the tube to the headphone jack and plug the broken tip to the tube and just pull it out, it worked just fine for me, hope you can find this useful.

If it’s an audio card, switch to motherboard audio, or vice versa.

If you broke the port off the board, regardless, it is practically unfixable. I’ve wasted a lot of time trying...

Buy the same board on Amazon and swap the broken one as a return.

EDIT: Looks like it’s just the headphone piece stuck. You got this!

Yes it's just the headphone piece stuck in there.

I'm going to work on it right now with the straw method.

Wish me luck!

You can try using superglue on the end of a blunted toothpick. Take care to only use the tiniest dab. Let it set and then pull out the jack end.

Best advice here...like their use of words.

But yeah back of that port in the pc, you could push it out.
Remove the power cable and touch something metal first.
