The salute to President Trump was full of pomp and ceremony, possibly also more obvious because a larger portion of the routine was shown in the video. But the number of military participants and the spit-polish nature of their firing of the rockets, and call to fire each volley, and also the faster pace was way different from the routine followed for China Joe.

Then again, maybe the military protocol officers weren't sure how such salutes were practiced in Beijing and wanted to make sure Biden felt as comfortable as possible.

BTW, the Chinese military uses a goose-step marching style, which has always looked goofy and idiotic to me. Certain other countries use the same format too, and, of course, it was popular in Hitler's Germany.

The Old Guard (3rd Infantry) performs the Presidential Battery Salute at the Capitol Inauguration.... except they didn't.

The Presidential Salute is 4 guns and 21 shots in rapid succession.

Biden got 3 guns and a 10 second pause between firings. This is the salute reserved for funerals and visiting Foreign dignitaries.

In Trump salute video you will see that only 3 of the 4 guns are used for the firings. Each gun fires 7 shots total, one every 9 second with 3 second separation between The 4th gun is backup.

In Bidet salute video they have 3 guns total and use only 2 for the firings. 3rd is backup. Unfortunately, cheeky OP has posted redacted video of Bidet salute and we can't see if they actually fired 21 shots. Only 10 are shown, but at end you can see that they are prepared to fire more rounds.

Military is always prepare with extra guns just in case of misfire.

Military is very military and on time. They have meaning for things and embody long standing tradition. Probably they did this salute with 10 second interval for some meaningful reason. Only thing I can find is that 10 second interval is standard for the royal family of Britain.

I watched the format used for President Trump in 2017 and there is no comparison between that one and the one used for the Manchurian Candidate.

Moreover, in 2017 the 21-gun salute was near the Capitol and took place just as Donald Trump was formally sworn in. The format followed 4 years ago was full of so many flourishes and military-grade pomp and precision, that it was very moving.

By contrast, what took place a few weeks ago was some thingamajig that didn't appear to reflect any specific honor for a US President or his inauguration. Then again, Jinping Xi shouldn't expect to receive a salute in America.

I'm beginning to agree. I realize if there were a plan in place, it would probably have to be the most convoluted plan ever devised and nothing short of miraculous to pull off. Because of the scope of bad players involved in theft in various degrees, just in the USA, the lack of citizens' awareness of what happened, and the repercussions in all the large industries, it seems to me it would be virtually impossible for President Trump to carry out a convincing plan. if there's something un-freaking-believable up his sleeve, it could still take an indefinite amount of time due to constantly changing external factors and the mitigating logistics.

Cheeky OP shows us only short video of not the whole ceremony. You can see at the 'end' of the video that they are ready for the next shot but the video ends. They even seemed to wait to cut it off right before the next shot so that we would think that was the end of the ceremony. Very cheeky.

I saw someone post images of a dark White House with a time stamp of 1:00, 2:00 am, etc. In that case, the floodlights being off wouldn't be unusual or a sign of something afoot. But if the lights aren't on around 9:00 or 10:00 pm, that's not typical.

I believe Richard Nixon's wife in the 1970s was the one who got the White House to be floodlit at night. At that time, the Capitol and a few other landmarks were lit in the evening.

Beyond that, the salute used in January 2017 was way more military-grade complete and fancy than what the first video depicts. If that wasn't the 21-gun salute used for China Joe, then whatever it was used for wasn't as impressive.
