For Presidents they use four cannons with shots fired at three second intervals. Videos below show both Obama and Trump received this salute. Another type of salute reserved for foreign dignitaries, is with three cannons and shots fired at 10 second intervals. Biden received that salute. I don't think the military makes simple mistakes. These guys don't mess around as you can see from the videos....
