That is not how the Insurrection Act works.

The President, who is already the Commander in Chief of the military, does not step down or give control to the military at that time.

The Insurrection Act is used as a way to bring troops in to hadn't an uprising or insurrection specifically. It's not even martial law. It's a way to use the military as a police arm, that's pretty much all.

I would love that to be true but I don’t see any indication, and the last three days have been full of similar announcements that didn’t pan out at all. So please please please don’t say something like this if you can’t provide supporting sources, please!!!
