Have you ever done a program at the Monroe Institute? Did you have a weird experience with dragonflies?

I did several residential courses at The Monroe Institute in my 20s. For those who haven’t heard of it, TMI was created by Robert Monroe to study the out of body experiences he started having. Participants would spend several hours a day listening to specially created binaural beats with guided meditations. It was really fun- the place is like a bed and breakfast in the country, and the programs attracted people who were interested in consciousness, UFOs, etc, so we would stay up late at night telling stories about this stuff.

Also, the US Army and CIA took an interest in the place.

I had several experiences around that time where the symbol of a dragonfly would come up. I felt compelled to get a (shitty) dragonfly tattoo. Lately I have been reading about the CIA and Monarch mind control, and butterfly tattoos.

It made me wonder if the dragonfly symbol was somehow planted in my consciousness. I met one other guy there who said his roommate had had a “mystical experience” with dragonflies at the lake where I had one of my experiences.

GLP seems like a place where I might find another TMI grad.. Anyone?
