WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH GOING THROUGH COVid-19?
A very dear friend of mine was hospitalized today. He was diagnosed positive yesterday morning. He is in his mid-40s. He has been in close contact with my goddaughter who lives with him.

His coughing was getting worse and he was having a lot of trouble breathing today so he is now hospitalized.

I'm wondering what can be expected. Who else has been through this or knows someone who has?

Yeah, we're little worried.

From what i hear... you don't want to get put on a ventilator.

yeah agreed. He's not there yet. Having trouble breathing but not needing to go to that extreme yet.

What do they actually do for you in the hospital?

I don't actually know what they do but since they don't want any family around the patient that gets really suspect. Stories about sedation without actual treatment. Hopefully they are not in an epicenter city and a smaller town. I believe those doctors and nurses would help more.

Prayers sent and hope all gets well.

thank you very much.

Yes, they are in a smaller town and you're right, no one is allowed in there. We are all waiting for him to communicate by text to let as know what's going on in there. Haven't heard a thing yet

the ventilators kill people - in NYC almost no one comes out alive once they go on the ventilator - this is even true for people who went to hospital short of breath only due to anxiety - once they started the 'treatment' they were dead

In Bulgaria there was a 68 year old man who survived after 38 days on a ventilator.

I'm really sorry to hear that, OP, Can you elaborate in your friend's age, known conditions? I know that pre existing Diabetes, as an example, makes Covid-19 far more deathly, also Hypertension. It's really a coin toss to survive under those conditions. Here in Chile people in serious condition have been saved by the so called "plasma transfusion" from recovered patients, is the only thing that seems to work saving 6 out of 10 seriously ill patients.

Hello hot pepper, thank you. I don't know about the hypertension but I do believe he may be getting close to diabetic. He is in law enforcement and sometimes they don't always eat the way they should.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
