There were none around here.

But as long as WE never forget that's all that mattets. We don't need government, CEO's or any of that to tell us to remember and honor. We can honor with a bowl of Ramen noodles. Or a glass of water.

Many thanks for stating the real reason for Memorial Day! Ive been observing Memorial Day for quite a few years and I'm never "Happy" on that Day unless I'm with my fellow comrades in arms. And there's not many of them left!

No one cares anymore. Tomb of the unknown soldier lays tilted in decay, another year passes on memorial day.

Some of us remember those that no one knew like it were yesterday.

I lost three guys in my company during a deployment in Iraq.

I've mourned all weekend.

At least I got to witness the enemy being taken alive and drive them to their Iraqi government execution.

It amazes me how few people understand what Memorial Day is, including those that post threads stating “Happy Memorial Day”.

There is absolutely NOTHING “happy” about this holiday. It is a day of somber remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives while serving in the military.

Would we say “Happy Memorial Day” to a set of parents whose son was killed in Afghanistan? Their lives are shattered.

Would we say “Happy Memorial Day” to a wife and child whose husband/father was blown up in Iraq?

Today is a day to honor, respect, and remember those who died while serving in the military.

I can't complete the pullups or pushups, but the rest I can.
