According to Dr. Vogt (video below) the scientists were actually looking for the "black glass" and "glass beads" on the moon to confirm this solar micro-nova theory. (Yes...they DID find it!) According to this researcher (and Ben Davidson has had him at his "Exploring the Horizons" conventions as an "expert speaker"--so he is no lightweight, either!) the "solar micro- nova" has a 12,000 year cycle. It explains some of the most curious cataclysms in Earth's history with this cycle showing up in the ice cores and in the fossil records.
