Freight train conductor here. First of all, the conductor is in charge of all people on the crew, including the engineer. Second, anyone who has ever been on a train, no matter how fast you are going knows rhat you dont go very far without rails underneath you. The only reason they travel at all during derailments is from the freight behind you is pushing the engine. This engine was “light power”. This story has fishy written all over it.
