Does anyone else have STREP THROAT? My son has it too- he is 2 states away. CA and WA

I'm trying to get a strep test (without walking into a clinic and getting sicker from people there), I've had it a few times in a my life and am quite certain I have it.

There are a few bizarre things here: other than walking/jogging along the beach daily (NO ONE around me), I have been staying home (work from home for the last couple years). Husband and daughter who live with me have no symptoms (yet).

My son, a Marine stationed around San Diego, got Strep throat less than a week ago. I'm north of Seattle, and haven't seen him in a couple months.

I'm normally super healthy (as is he), and really surprised to wake up with:
- swollen, red tonsils with white dots
- hard to swallow,
- headache,
- very slight fever
..... no other real symptoms.

Can breathe and hold my breathe just fine.

I just feel like the timing is so weird- to get this out of the blue, when I'm not around anyone, not going out of the house except for fresh air and Vitamin D, haven't been sick in a long time, and for my son to get it out of the blue too.

-> I wanted to get a feel for any other GLPers who have or have had this recently, is this going around? <-


I haven't heard of anyone having it (in my circle) for at least a year, maybe 2.
