Commonly referred to as a Cleveland Whale.

the seismographs registered the quake, especially the ones in the east, but it looks like a far away quake and small to do anything special. The live cam doesnt work for me.

hope my relatives to the southeast of Cleveland okay

they had lots of quakelets a few years back, fracking.

it was actually a little east of Cleveland,3 miles north of Eastlake.It shook the hell out of my house.

Dr. David Miller, professor of geology at Clark State Community College, says due to the numerous faults, tectonic activity, and rock formation underneath Ohio, its not a matter of “if” Ohio will feel a moderate earthquake, but of “when.” “If you are in your twenties today, you will feel a significant earthquake in your lifetime, if you stick around in the Midwest, due to the New Madrid fault system that runs through Memphis, Tennessee and up to St. Louis,” Miller said. “The second risk will be some of the smaller faults that we have in Ohio.”

When I read about the salt mines it scared me and I don't live there. The video i saw talked about blasting. They closed the place off to the public for a reason which is most likely for safety. Leakage has happened in the past.

Mines historically have been highly dangerous places, then factor in the large volume of water that has been occuring with flooding and it heightens the odds for some problems. The eartquake's proxcimity to the mines I haven't researched but quake effects can cover a large area and I doubt we know the effect underground it would have on a cavernous mine under Lake Erie. It most definitely bears watching at least.

4.4 wont get me out of bed. but i would go fill everything gas, prophane and water. just in case. If you dont have one a 12v dc to 110 v ac inverter 3000 watt will run your house ish. $200 ish at harbor freight tools on sale, note modified signwave some electronic wont work or may be damaged. use it for fridge and some lights. your car need's to be running. Average car uses 1 gal per hour when idling or in traffic. use large gage jumper cables # 4 or bigger #2 the smaller the # the larger the wire gage. I have one in my van i use alot on job sites and around the property. Northridge and Sylmar quakes we had no power or water for 2+ weeks.
