Differing opinions and yet able to hold a calm, civil, intelligent discussion.

It truly is a shame that we've become such a nasty, hateful society.

Previous poster had it right. The communist NWO is behind this.

Right you are, Ted!
In 1958 we had sound money. You could put money in a pickle jar and it maintained its value regardless how long it was kept. We had families that wouldn't accept poor performance in school work. Everyone had to work, no kid was handed life on a silver platter.
We had clear cut roles to play in life. Women were honored to be homemakers, men were proud to have a lowly factory job, because there was dignity in all honest work.
Women could work, but they were taught they would have to forestall marrying and having a family if they did, since their role as a mother/homemaker would badly suffer.
Men honored women by treating them respectfully on dates. Her father would beat you like a dog if she told him you took liberties, and other girls would shun you for dates.
Kids all looked pretty much like their dads since cheating was frowned upon by men, society and the women themselves.

I remember when birth control pills came on the scene. Women would use them (mostly for financial reasons) but were ashamed to go into the drugstore and pick them up.

It was a traditional society with rules that seem quaint to us today, but it worked.

Blacks tended to live in their own section of town, but were welcome to shop or go to the movies anywhere.
Whites visited the black side to enjoy the barbecue restaurants, shrimp and seafood, or to hear the bands in the bars over there.
Separate, but equal. It worked. Therefore it had to be destroyed.
