They had the cajones to parody "The Miracle Worker" - the Helen Keller biopic. I just looked for it but youtube deleted it (i wonder why...)

SCTV was a diamond in the rough. Even when it moved it NBC they couldn't ruin it. I loved the bit they did when the Russians took over the broadcast. And Maureen O'Hara as the Joey Hetherton character .

LOL, the famous "dueling pianos" during the Holidays sketch.. not the first SCTV to parody Liberace, or Elton for that matter.

Catherine O'hara used to make us puke with laughter when we were teenagers. Here she does the "Dusty Towne Sexy Holiday Special" An ode to the 1950's dirty talking women nightclub comediennes who would put out private label comedy albums that would only be heard at parties.

Queen haters was the best... One of my all time favorites! I had a betamax (that I'd worked EXTREMELY hard to be able to buy) & my friends would come over & we'd laugh til we puked up beer watching SCTV. Didn't really ever laugh that hard at SNL, even at their funniest. SCTV was purposefully parody a 'low budget' version of snl and was MUCH funnier!!!

My brother and I would stay up late just to catch SCTV, way back when it started, before it went to NBC. Way funnier than SNL back then.

Millennials deemed SCTV offensive and racist. Its been removed from a lot of retro channel stations.

They specifically state Rick's "Turning Japanese" rendition was racist and offensive.
