Time will tell ! They are replacing the MD-80's and I believe the few 757's they had are gone too! New and newer used A-319 and A-320's are the focus now.

Not disagreeing with you it does seem to be proceed with caution situation! I did fly on them tho and all was well!

their maintenance division is cutting corners to penny pinch. dangerous. FAA should be on their asses citing them for violations. I am surprised they're getting over like this.

charter pilots make paltry salary. When I was an aviation analyst I was in contact with them to ensure they were tracking the aircraft maintenance properly and timely. Commercial pilot is where the money is at.

I don't know how they are going to keep going with this publicity - but I have known this about them for a while due to connections in the industry.

And Lehigh Valley International Airport wonders why I fly out out of Philly. Get a good air carrier and not one who nickles and dimes you to death, has maintenance issues and basically flies to Florida with direct flights on a specific day. Dam, LVIA, you are wanting to tie me up and throw me in the cargo area because that is what you are doing to your passengers with all of these restrictions with this air carrier. How they stay in business is a wonder to me. I guess saving a few bucks for people is worth dying on an airplane flight. Spend your money wisely LVIA and get SW airlines to fly here. Then watch your passenger counts go way up. This is a no brainer

My x husband wanted to put my son on this carrier for his visitations I told him NFW - and sent a slew of articles to him. He never mentioned it again.
This morning I sent a link to this 60 minutes show. I am sorry but I can't watch it, spent years in the biz and it will make me sick.

if I told you guys how owners and operators of private, business and corporate aircraft cook their books on the hours and landings figures of their airframe, powerplant and props to shirk downing an aircraft for scheduled maintenance, you'd be shocked.

I read something a while back where their head safety guy who is a pilot as well - they were going low on fuel to save costs and as a result something happened where they requested an emergency landing and were denied and landed anyway.

Crazy shit. I can't find that article anymore. Its not just the maintenance its the mindset of the whole organization.

I remember him coming home one day with his head all bandaged up due to running into a 707 flap section while doing some MX work.

Seems to be a hit piece on the little guy. I know at smaller airports like Mcghee Tyson airport in Knoxville, tn. the larger carriers threaten to move their operations to other cities if the little guys aren't removed.

I fly from Knoxville to Sanford and back a lot on Allegiant and never a hic up.


Never has there been a fatality on this airlines.

Again it is a hit piece.

Are you aware that major commercial airlines use Mexico and China as mechanical maintenance bases? This started many years ago....to cut costs.

yes, safety culture in aviation isn't the same anymore.

I was not aware of this. That is super crazy as their aircraft mechanics are subpar compared to ours.
