One respected Chicago weather guy publishes a blog, which mentioned this year's cold summer is running a record going back 128 years.

It doesn't cite the actual source.
I looked for it, unfortunately search engines only feed the official narrative.

Not one night over 70 degrees here.

Jetstream has very strange kink.
Storms that should be tracking across upper Great Lakes are running through mid Illinois through Ohio.

The flooding in Kentucky WOULD have been in the Lakes with normal patterns.

The problem isn't heat, it's that the heat is not flowing enough to fill the deficit elsewhere.

I see this as a long term cooling problem, looking back over my decades.

Shows where parts of Texas are approaching 2011 heat records and a 'drought to deluge' scenario unfolding for next week.

"It’s been a summer full of extreme heat and prolonged drought in Texas and much of Oklahoma, but a needed change in the weather pattern is on the way as temperatures are forecast to throttle back this week. While there is some good news that rain is forecast for parts of the region, too much rain is likely to cause flooding in some areas, AccuWeather meteorologists caution.

"A strong bubble of high pressure at most levels of the atmosphere has kept rain away and caused heat to build much of this summer over the south-central United States," AccuWeather Chief On-Air Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said. "But change is on the way."
