Yesterday I travelled from Volgograd to Moscow:
the whole area is without snow and just slighly cold everywhere which is horribly strange.

Yes, be safe if you are in Missouri. Or anywhere, of course, where this type of weather is coming.

I'm near Kansas City as well and it was close to 60 here yesterday. When I got groceries last night, it was kind of balmy out and then the cold wind started coming in. When I woke up at 6 this morning, the roads were already icy and freezing rain was falling. It's almost 11:30 now and we're still having some freezing rain with snow mixed in.

Re: The Weather Thread
Southeastern Indiana was near 60 today. We're expecting a snow storm Friday night through Saturday.

However, the weathermen can't decide on what model they want to use to forecast any kind of snowfall totals.

One model says to expect 2.0 inches.

Another model is forecasting 23.1 inches for the same fucking area!

OMG.

Just give me the Farmers Almanac and call it a day..sheesh.

IDIOTS.
 Quoting: ~Jazzy~

About 100 miles north of you ... you forgot to mention the one week temperature swing. When I woke up a week ago it was about 13 below zero, colder in the rural areas, with a high one day of about 3 above.

This AM when I woke up it was 55 degrees!

Wake up temperature swing in one week of 68 degrees!! Crazy!! (but at least all of our snow and ice will be gone before the storm hits over the weekend - but never seen a forecast before saying that it will be somewhere between 2 inches and 2 feet!! - maybe they will change it to 2 yards? lol)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52154903

Howdy neighbor. Swinging temps is an understatement. We hit -14 just 4 days ago. Not unheard of for this area. Neither are the high 50's we were at yesterday and today. But to have them both in just a few days is unreal.

They've updated their 'forecast' for the 'storm'...2 to 4 inches starting 12 hours earlier than they were expecting.

It's like weathermen went shit for brians in their abilities to do their jobs. 30 years ago, they were seldom off in their forecasts. Now...it's like they get their information from a bingo ball tumbler.

After a rain event storm in the San Joaquin valley the conditions are just right and the fog can last for weeks at at a time or until another storm pattern moves through.

In addition, a flood watch was in effect for 20 million people from Buffalo, New York, to Boston, as part of a different weather system that's bringing rain and unseasonably warmer temperatures to the Eastern Seaboard.

Global warming has me freezing my ass off in Wyoming today. It's 20F now, looking for a high around 30F. Today the wind will blow making the wind chill just below zero. Meanwhile, all the animals still want fed. It'll be a good day to dress warm. No change expected in the near future. At least it's not below zero, like it was a couple of weeks ago. Over all, it's been a colder than usual winter, and looks like that will continue.
