Last week, news leaked that the Trump administration planned to terminate DACA, the Obama-era program which allows undocumented individuals between the ages of 15 and 36 who were brought to the U.S. as children—i.e. people who have basically zero personal culpability in having broken immigration laws—to receive work permits and temporary protection from deportation. While the White House still says no formal decision on the matter has been made, various outlets continue to report that DACA is doomed. New polling, meanwhile, suggests that the move will not be well-received.

The numbers are "health-care-bill-level unpopular," referring to the widely despised, Trump-backed Affordable Care Act replacement plans which failed in Congress. And while I may not be a highly paid political analyst, I don't believe that it's a good sign for a presidential administration when the most obvious point of comparison for something tremendously unpopular that they're about to do is something tremendously unpopular that they just did.

President Trump is expected to announce plans to end President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which had halted the deportation of certain young illegal immigrants, a senior administration official told Fox News.

This is an outrage! My friend Paco ran across the border to America with is father Jorge and friend Pepe for a better life in America. Pepe broke his leg coming across the border and was captured by drug runners and beaten to death. Now it looks like Paco and Jorge may be deported because of Trump.

Pick yoiur battles Mr. President. This is not a good call, period.

Why do they get to cut the line ahead of the person who played by the rules and applied to come here legally but is still waiting? They got an education unlike what they would have received in their home country because their parents broke the law. I think letting them stay till their daca term is up is reasonable then get in line like the rest of the world.
