I will ask him next time I see him. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70446278 I knew a guy that played high level college, and a yr in the pros.. plus try outs. foosball. hell guy, it was rigged in high school. that guy was me So how is it done? Are they flat out told this is how it is. Or is it orchestrated from the coaching level using play selection? |

Just like the decision about the news. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61533442 if the elite players are making multi millions ... someone is writing those checks. alot of change on the line, more then someone like me can imagine. so yes, just like the news... the sheeple are the big buyers, sponsors want ratings, Team owners are the guys behind the curtain |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12411301 While drinking a beer and wearing a child's sports jersey. Shhhh, you'll disturb their reality. growing up being into football and a huge motorsports fan, mainly NASCAR. It really hit home watching NASCAR change for broadcast TV in the early 2000's and the ESPN presentation of The NFL become a gangsta themed madhouse. There was always the money aspect on both fronts. thats to be expected, everyone needs a sponsor to get over at times. But what we see today is rivaling our biggest problems within the govt. and the corporations that run the show(s) |

And his sponsors pay? You can't really rig it. The course is the course. The weather is weather. Unless you got GPS guided golfballs. But hey, I'd like some of those too |

But hey, I'd like some of those too i dont watch alot of golf honestly, Id imagine its alot like horse racing which i do watch. there isnt just alot there to rig. besides throwing a hole, or race , or match. Some things just can not be rigged to the degree that things like NFL or NBA can be rigged. To that point I dont think the MLB is rigged to a certain degree. if anything the rigging is the rules themselves, where a team like the yankees can create a elite team of athletes. but that still requires they perform |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 62825590 United States 06/18/2016 01:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A few years ago, a NE Patriots (NFL) season ticket holder tried to sue the team due to all the trouble they got into with "cheating". The fan's point was that he was paying to see a legitimate sporting event, and not a team that was trying to win through cheating and deceptive practices. The case went pretty high up in the court system until a judge finally ruled that when a fan purchases a ticket to a sporting event,,,said fan is NOT entitled to a completely unbiased and unscripted event. They are only buying entry to a live show, and the teams DO NOT have an obligation to leave everything to chance....only to put on the best show possible. The ruling didn't specifically say that teams are allowed to cheat, or control the outcome...but basically said that the teams are only required to honor the ticket purchase by putting on the best show or event as possible. Yes, that means, that if the owners feel that one team winning would be a better 'show'....well....you can figure out the rest... This was a US court ruling. |

Quoting: DaredEvil That being said the teams and the stars still have to perform to a elite level. Refs can only do so much on the field and court to influence a game without making it to blatant to the sheeple. so to that point we still see world class athletes doing amazing things in the sports world. from the front office , the league, to the ground level refs its most def a rigged game. How about motor sports, Im a Old School NASCAR/motorsports fan.. NASCAR is the worst at rigging races and package rules to throw a "debris" caution.. or a format that suits a particular drivers style. Bowing down to the mighty dollar to make a "playoff" .. its sad to watch for someone like myself. Im sure the world cup and international tennis and/golf is the same. although im not into those sports. NHRA also easily rigged. but at least theres still a few legit games and races to watch that are not so easily influenced by the mighty dollar 24 hr at le man should be a legit event i hope, some elite drivers with some seriously expensive rides You forgot the NHL. Most definitely rigged by the officials. Calling penalties at the most crucial moments in the game to tip chances to the advantage of the other team. It's obvious how partial they are to certain teams, especially US teams during the playoffs, When was the last time a Canadian team won the cup? 1993! And not because we have bad players or bad coaches. It's because it's all rigged, and the market is bigger in the US, gotta please those US fans. |

Spend a lot of money to put the best team on the field possible. People spend a lot of money on elite horses as well. The NBA can be rigged due to calling fouls every other play, which can affect momentum. The NFL is the same with penalty flags. You could call holding on almost every play but they don't. And one player can be paid to miss a clutch shot, or drop a pivotal catch without too much scrutiny I don't think tennis is easily rigged either. |

Yep just like most of if not all the Original 6 are ALWAYS in the playoffs and the bigger market "Classic" teams always win. Hence why Chicago beats Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh beat San Jose, both Bay teams were expansions. Complete Bullshit. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 72376367 United States 06/18/2016 02:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | NFL....influenced and manipulated by the refs to get desired results but sometimes things sneak through. For example, Seattle and Minnesota are playing in round two of the playoffs. Dallas already won and the NFL really wants a Seattle-Dallas matchup. Minnesota will for sure get fucked at some point late in the game to help Seattle BUT...the action is real. Guys are really playing etc and sometimes a team is just better and can rise above the corrupt officials. The NFLs big problem is just unrelenting greed...from all sides. Media league owners players etc. MLB....league refuses to level the playing field financially between cities like New York and Oakland. MLB would love a Yankees Dodgers series every year. Baseball is a funky game and sometimes a cash poor team like Minnesota or KC get hot and win. I think the games are legit but the league will never give Milwaukee the same opportunity as the Yankees get unlike the NFL where Jacksonville has the same opportunity as Dallas. So even with 28 teams really only like 9 have a real shot to win more than once every 20 years. NBA....easiest to fix the on court as with 10 guys on the court you only need to manipulate 1 or 2 to swing a game. NBA loves suspending key role players in play off games to hurt undesired contenders. Keep the stars around for tv ratings but suspend a key role player to cripple a team the league doesn't like. Like MLB NBA wants a Knicks Lakers series every year. Other than San Antonio markets like Milwaukee Minnesota Portland have zero shot to ever win a title. The NBA is trash. Pure trash. Your favorite NFL team has a shot to win a Super Bowl but just know if your team is not the flavor of the moment you will have to beat the opposing team and the refs. Your favorite MLB can also win but if it's a B or C market team you will have maybe a once in 30 years shot and if your team isn't pretty much perfect you will lose. The Yankees meanwhile can have a shitty roster and a bottom 10 farm system yet 2 years later win it all. Unless your NBA team is in a top 10 market or has a top 7 player you have zero shot to win anything past the 2nd round. You never see Cinderellas in the NBA ever. You can have 3 of the top 20 players but if at least one isn't ranked top 6 or 7 you will not win. The NFL is still worth watching but only free games. Do not spend one cent on the NFL. Be prepared to have your heart broken by a ref. MLB is worth watching but don't count on more than one title in your lifetime unless you root for an elite money market. NBA is not worth supporting. Even if you are a Cavs or Warriors fan your titles are so manipulated and fake you shouldn't be proud or happy. |

Well said and pretty much spot on with how sports are rigged, Like in nascar.. 10 to go dale Jr is in 2nd place.... you can bet a "debris" caution flag will be thrown, repack the field. Dale Jr still has to win.. but his chance..and the excitement is now there. Now same scenario.. except dale Jr is leading. Guaranteed no fake caution flag.. matter fact , race stewards become blind to anything other then a blatant on track crash. |
