Even if we don't have a "civil war," what's happening now is like musical chairs. Every time the music stops there's fewer and fewer chairs. That's what's happening with jobs. There are fewer and fewer jobs and the ones that are out there are for less money and no benfits.

The American pie is shrinking and that alone is going to freak people out. We are like rats in the maze. We'll be biting and devouring each other before you know it. I Live on the East Coast and people are increasingly stressed out and nasty.

Uncle Intel aside; some preppers who thought of everything won't make it, and some that have never heard the term "prepper" will make it. But, there has to be a place or places where a family can get away from everything just for common sanity, and that place could very well be a temporary solution to an all out SHTF or mini-SHTF's across the nation.

A lot of people will throw up their arms and give up, but far more will not.

And as though there were not already enough to worry about, we know that the paid members are gonna wipe the AC's slick. It's best to have a bug out plan.

Well tell this teacher you have 2 options if there is a civil war. First option is you choose a side and fight. Simple. Second option is if you don't have a horse in the fight and the country fails and stores close just leave the country for a few years. Buy gold and bury it somewhere and then go to europe they are accepting refugees. I would pretend you were muslim just to be safe. Lets the sides fight it out then either come back get your gold or start a new life in a new european country of your choice. I would choose Sweden if it was me. There is no reason to prep and lock yourself in a basement for 3 years and risk getting killed or worse. Just leave!

I think the Obama's buying that DC townhouse is a big clue. I used to believe they would return to Hawaii because, being geographically isolated, it would be hard for any lynch mobs to access them. But now I am thinking of how DC is a separate part of the country, in terms of legal definitions. We always think of DC in terms of: "inside the Beltway, DC insiders, etc," but I believe (someone feel free to correct me here) it is some sort of outside/corporate entity as a "District of Columbia," which separates it from the States. This might mean that it would operate under it's own rules/laws and military protection if there were to be a civilian uprising? Like, perhaps the military can't legally operate against US Citizens in States but can in DC? Same way DC has no National Guard? I dunno.

Also, my child is friends with a child, and the mom and I talk. Her husband works for a certain agency (he is former Marine and currently doing Uncle-Sam-knows-what in Saudi Arabia). She does not even know what he does for this agency. They JUST moved to the state we are in from DC because they hated it there, but now he suddenly wants her to move back to DC with him. It could just be that he is tired of not seeing her/their children, but I find it strange considering he is overseas most of the time anyway. Plus, they just bought a beautiful home here.

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: As someone who grew up around/worked in alphabet agency shell corporations...if you have to flee the country, my first recommendation is Panama due to the multi-national interests in keeping it secure/stable for use of the Canal. 2nd choice would be the expat community in Belize. 3rd choice would be Argentina, but only if you are white. The Argentinians are getting their shit together here lately, but it is a mostly white country, and they are fairly racist, so I wouldn't recommend it for non-whites. In an emergency, all of these countries would be accessible via boat, car (would be difficult to cross borders in a car, though), or even on foot.
