The police here also has special instructions on how to report migrant related crimes or migrant suspects. By law, it must be made public, but the form is not specified. Therefore, they get around having to release "provocative information" (e.g. a migrant raping a teen girl/boy) by obfuscating it. Individual cops are gagged and all such information flows through the police PR department.

The public reports don't mention the ethnicity, religion or original home country of the suspect as that is not mandated by the law. When confronted about the obfuscation policy, the police high command cites public safety as the reason: they are trying not to provoke the migrants (who consider all arrests as racist) and/or extreme right wing groups. The information becomes fully public when the court proceedings begin, but then it's buried in a mountain of paper and few people see it.
