Nice song. Is that you singing the words?

That's me, yes. Thanks. I do it all except for drums and sound effects.
You should post some of your doom photography here!

Haven't had any doom to photograph yet, but when/if I do...

What will your book be about?
 Quoting:

Not sure yet. I've always imagined I'd be a horror writer but there is no inspiration in that direction.

I think I might just write my collective wisdom and disguise it as a book for my children, since I will probably die before they are full adults. (Late Start and Heart problems.)

YIKES on your poison cooking. Ehhh, mental note not to get on your bad side!

MMA: THAT will come in as handy as anything... it is also something that might save your ass before the apocalypse. Knowing how to put someone to sleep with your bare hands is priceless- it is also a great equalizer- a woman skilled at MMA can defeat many/most men who have no working understanding of the concepts.

Locksport: being able to access locked areas/rooms/homes without making a bunch of noise might be a really good thing to know.

Basic outdoor survival: minimalist backpacking will prepare you psychologically for living with little to nothing in unfamiliar environments- there are many schools teaching outdoor survival these days.

Basic firearms knowledge and marksmanship: Many people own firearms. Some feel more is better, yet they have poor marksmanship skills and understand nothing about weapons care and maintenance.

Psychology: knowing how people will react (sometimes before even they do) is priceless... understanding how to barter... and what to look for in a person who might or might not be trustworthy or "sane" will come in extremely useful.

This is actually REALLY good one- knowing how to navigate via the night-sky is a skill that is basically non-existent anymore, except for skilled naval officers and some spec. ops. guys... or astronomers, etc.

Those sound like very useful hobbies, albeit intense. I like the idea of locksport (never heard that term before). Where does one learn and practice that?

Edit: just saw your post with the YouTube link. Thanks!

Raise chickens, raise fruit trees and bushes. Grow herbs raise bees...and I know to to ride and maintain a horse. That's about it. Oh and I can fish and shoot a bow or gun. Also going to be learning how to make bees wax candles.

Re: Do you have doom related hobbies?
Wine making, collecting distilling information and equipment for later use. Also cheese making info and supplies. I collect good books on all kinds of things. Soap making, candle making, and food preservation are going to be new and needed skills in a possibly fucked-up future.

Right now I can google anything...but when TSHTF I will have my books.

Re: Do you have doom related hobbies?
Lots of really great and interesting things listed here! You all do some pretty cool things.

Someone mentioned beekeeping. I love that one. Some day when I live in a more rural and non-rented space, I want to have bees. It's risky because they could all die off and disappear, but valuable because they do so many good things.

I hike hills and mountains in spring and summer in our tiny part of Alps, cross to Italy sometimes. Its not much but I got stamina and know the area if retreat to the mountains would be needed. tounge

Ohh, now I understand what you meant. When I first read it, I thought you meant that you liked to make ricin tea or something. Sounded very sinister.
