Anonymous Coward User ID: 71023772 United States 02/16/2016 03:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I got the same letter only my response was different. I did not file a return in 2015. Someone actually filed a false one using my SS#. I too was unable to certify by online I dont know who thinks up these fn questions to verify who you are? Might be the same people who stole my identity. The phone number they give you to call is a fucking joke. Never there, always busy. Days I've tried to call. So, I sent their form letter and a written response back to them with a few choice comments telling them NOT to process the false claim. |

You are now the official supporters of a Juan. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69001916 Shut it Aussie....I dont need to hear your shit too today But he is right.. I'd just ignore the fuckers and go on living. you are stuck in a trap of your own making... they put that little piece of cheese in there and you went for it.. BAM.. snapped right on your head. stop relying on the government for anything.. work for cash, barter and trade.. you can be debt and IRS free. The IRS is holding the tax return because they think somebody is using Bambi2U's information. They have not paid the refund. If the information on the IRS website is correct, the Taxpayer Verification is to prevent paying a tax refund to a crook. *** Good deeds bring rewards, bad actions bring troubles. Anonymous Coward User ID: 71488909 Germany 02/16/2016 03:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am an American living in Germany (thankfully moving back home shortly)....and you have to provide several documents to take a shit in this country (not to mention the complete inability of the average worker here to think independently and not have their Supervisor literally hold their hand through any situation that has a 52-point procedure, but, I'm getting off topic..). It's ridiculous. I wish more Americans were aware of one of the drawbacks of a Social 'Democracy' is constantly having to provide paperwork, verify your identity, etc. Wouldn't be surprised to hear more stories like the OPs in the coming years. One thing I miss about the states is when you want to start a job: Your ID, your SS #...and you're done. I hope to god that hasn't changed in the 7yrs since I left. |

User ID: 68545736 United States 02/16/2016 04:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Perhaps it is identity theft. This happened to me last year. I had to talk to a special agent who had to verify that I am the person who file the return. The verification took place last May and they are still processing my refund. In April, it will one year before they send me my refund |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 2395450 United States 02/16/2016 04:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ohio required me to do this last year and my BF this year. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65903203 It's supposed to reduce tax fraud, you must be getting money back. They ask you 3 questions and if you get more than one wrong they go to another level of suspicion. The questions are like "which car have you owned, a chevy cavalier/ford bronco/honda civic/ ford escalade" one of those WILL have been a car you own(ed). The problem you're having is likely because so many people are trying to get through to them with the same issue at once. Ugh!!! I go through H&R Block every year and paid the Extra $$$ for the extra identity protection, ended up paying $650 to have my taxes done with all the extra protection.bullshit and I had to go through all the same questions too. It's crazy what all they know about and all the vehicles you've owned in.your lifetime! Hang in.there OP. I know it's frustrating, Ydoesre getting totally hosed. My accountant does mine for 175 and she knows more than the bozos at H&R. I have all types of itemizations and many stock trades. When I got a letter from the IRS a few years ago she took care of everything....for forty bucks. Find an independent accountant. |

"The fundamental question of our time is whether the West has the will to survive. ... Our own fight for the West does not begin on the battlefield — it begins with our minds, our wills, and our souls... Americans, Poles, and the nations of Europe value individual freedom and sovereignty. We must work together to counter forces, whether they come from inside or out, from the South or the East, that threaten over time to undermine these values and to erase the bonds of culture, faith and tradition that make us who we are. The IRS wouldn't send it to a different bank account then the previous year. Otherwise we wouldn't have known till we filed. Call the IRS and ask if someone has filed in your name . |

Like questions about a car that was registered to you 20 years ago. Like what year you had or did something, but forever ago. It was a nightmare-- But it is real. Good luck. My husband had his refund stolen last year before he even filed-- the government has to take steps, just really frustrating. "You can bend it and twist it... You can misuse and abuse it... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70721046 Claim 20 kids on your W4. Then you'll be paying like $5000 and they'll be happy to take that. In a normal situation, that would be true. However, this looks like someone else might using that SS# for payroll purposes and identity theft. A lot of people would say "so what?" Here's what - the real person with that assigned SS# now has at least two employers reporting income that he/she didn't earn or receive. Depending on how much the illegal is making, that can jump the earning level up into another bracket, jacking the tax rate of the original SS# holder tremendously. The illegal will claim at least 10 dependents, so very little is deducted from his/her paycheck. Guess who's left holding the bag, so to speak? Not only that, but then the IRS blames the original SS# holder for under-reporting and evasion on their return. Fines, penalties, and fees could cost him/her thousands. This is a big deal. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69515317 One way they use them is to file false tax returns. I got letters from my health insurer and t mobile both that my info had be gotten. Welcome to the future.
