Teaching my wonderful daughter how to bake and prepare the Thanksgiving meal this year. So far, cranberry muffins (easier than the bread I usually make), pumpkin pies, cornbread no sugar thank you very much, biscuits, and just finished a big batch of yeast rolls, which is now rising.

She keeps looks at me like I am totally nuts for making everything from scratch, so I asked her "do you like the fresh bread better than the rolls you get at the store that most just call brown and serve?" Of course she does and I simply told her, that is why I go to the extra effort at this time of year.

Home baking and cooking is filled with love to show my family and friends I love them and they are worth the effort.

Nothing worse than a frozen pumpkin pie from the freezer section at the store. Nasty tasting.

For those who might not know, the cornbread and biscuits are for the stuffing I finish tomorrow.

I was thinking earlier what it might be like if GLP sat down together for Thanksgiving dinner.

I imagined it would be a bunch of people sitting quietly around a table on laptops, furiously scouring the internet for breaking news... occasionally taking a hurried bite of turkey.

And every 10 minutes an AC troll would run in and knock all the plates off the table.
