The team now reports that they fired the laser (called the Laser for Fast Ignition Experiments [LFEX]) for a very short period of time—a pulse of just a trillionth of a second. But that pulse was a doozy, emitting 2-petawatts of power, or put another way 2 quadrillion watts. The research team claims also that not only does the laser generate approximately twice as much power as a similar rival laser at the University of Texas, but has approximately 100 times as much energy. The team reports also that their configuration is only the beginning, they plan to create stronger and stronger lasers with a goal of achieving 10 petawatts. Each member was working on an advanced concept for space propulsion. The guy from Los Alamos (forgot his name) had calculated that with a powerful laser and a short enough pulse, he could create a wormhole by warping space/time. He was a serious scientist with great credentials, not some crack pot in a garage. Some quantum physiscists think that there are parallel dimensions and such. It is possible that Japan's new laser is causing a disturbance in space/time that can be detected by the neighbors. BTW, I was working on carbon nanotubes for a tether to geosynchronous and beyond, the "Sky Hook". |

It was amazing to watch them do their "dance"..... I'm convinced this planet has been visited many times.
