Yellowstone seems to be building up, but very slowly. I don't think it will blow this week, maybe not even this year, but who knows? Nobody has experienced a supervolcano before.

it doesn't HAVE to build up.

the chamber can blow at a moments notice, if the pressure and heat in there builds sufficiently, and anyway, just one random strong quake in the wrong spot could blow it as well, so thinking we'd be able to predict it is foolish.

remember Chaiten? they thought that fucker was EXTINCT. a load of magma rose suddenly under it, at about a metre a second from the depths apparently. all it takes is for one of these blobs of magma to rise like that under toba, or yellowstone, and it's night night hi

By the looks of it, June of 2016 seems to be the upper limit.

When dealing with these kinds of things, one should always assume the worst and act accordingly. Sadly, as of yet, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Re: yellowstone releases a fireball
Didn't somebody post an article on GLP recently that said scientists gave something like a 10% chance of an eruption in this century? And don't forget about Lake Toba. That one is just as doom worthy as Yellowstone. I think I also read that they figured out that a dormant volcano can start "waking up" in around 20 days as opposed to the hundreds of years they previously thought.

One thing I didn't think of last night was these could be camera flashes. I'm not quite sure that is what is occurring here because they aren't showing the whole screen in their video when they are seeing these flashes, but on May 20, 2015, I was doing a new experiment of filming my computer screen to see if I could catch odd activity better because sometimes I'm not quick enough with screenshots.

I am in the process of editing my video (cutting it down to just the timeframe in question) and uploading it to Youtube and will share it here when it's all done, but here's some screenshots I took from that video of brilliant flashing at Old Faithful that I know came from cameras:

[link to i.imgur.com]
[link to i.imgur.com]

These screenshots clearly show that it is a camera, but when watching live I had a hard time figuring it out. In my video you can hear me say that I'm going to have to go back to watch to see if that was the case. This person's video does not show the entire screen, so it's hard to say if there was an outside source of light for the flashing like you can see in my video.

I did capture several flashes, but the majority of them I could say were being caused by a camera flash because I was filming the whole screen and when I went back and watched it frame by frame you can see the light source for the flashing is actually coming from a person. There are a few flashes that I could not see as coming from a camera source, but still eventually chalked it up that night to a camera source that I couldn't see.

Here's a screenshot that I couldn't attribute to a camera at all because there were not camera flashes going on at the time of it and did not chalk this one up to a camera:

[link to i.imgur.com]

I have about an hour or so of raw footage from that night and I may decide to upload it all. Would anyone be interested in seeing the full hour or so of raw footage?

Just caught the tail end of a bright quick orange flash on the far left:

It started pretty bright.

Kudos to Ostria 1 for finding online video streaming of the camera at night!

When I go their video for last night (6/3/15), it clearly also catches the flash that I caught at the 2:07 mark:

Here's the screenshot of that video that matches with the screenshot that I took live last night:

[link to i.imgur.com]

As you can see from the video it was more brilliant and that one I took live last night was at the tail end and that's why it's not so brilliant.

I've taken a screenshot of the daytime from the video and circled where the flare was captured:

We cant exclude reflections of light sources from inside the room when we take a video but i have to agree with Simple that some "explosions" of light we see, seem to be on site and dont look like from flashlights.
And thank you too for your work!

Re: yellowstone releases a fireball
All right, due to Ostria 1 finding us streaming night time footage out at Old Faithful, I have gone to the night that this guy filmed his video. Here's the video for that night:

I have compared his video to this video. It appears from what I can tell that he is central standard time, just like me, so there will be an hour's difference between his time and the time on the live streaming video. His time will be an hour ahead of the live streaming video time.

The issues we have here I think are that he is zooming into small sections making them look bigger than they actually are. I have compared his video to the live streaming video and here is what I am finding. All screenshots are screenshots taken from the video above of the live streaming video from that night.

The light he sees in the very beginning appears to be a flashlight or headlights. Here is a screenshot I have taken from the video which seems to correspond to what he is seeing:

[link to i.imgur.com]

At the 5:00 minute mark (which is 11:08 his time since at the start of the video it was 11:03), he talks about the water and having never seen that before. It is water from Old Faithful that pools up after it's eruption and I see it all the time. it is shiny because of the sun's reflection. Here's a screenshot from the video from the same time frame showing that it is just the water with the sun reflecting off of it:

[link to i.imgur.com]

I think the flash that gets him all excited at the 5:17 mark (which is still 11:08 his time) is just headlights. Here's a screenshot of around that time frame from the other video:

[link to i.imgur.com]

The little flash he mentions at the 6:20 mark (which is 11:09 his time) is probably just a flashlight. Here's a screenshot of around that time frame from the other video. I've circled the light I'm pretty sure he is referencing:

[link to i.imgur.com]

When he freaks out at the 7:39 mark (which is 11:10 his time), I'm pretty sure it's still just a car headlight or flashlight. Here's a screenshot from that time frame:

[link to i.imgur.com]

At the 8:05 mark (11:11 his time) where he talks about "lights they're shining back there," is still the same flashlights/headlights from the screenshot above.

At the 8:22 mark (11:11 his time) he's talking about the lights in Old Faithful's smoke again. I think it's a flashlight. Here's a screenshot from that time frame with what he's seeing circled:

[link to i.imgur.com]

The red hue he references at the 9:54 mark (11:12 his time) is most likely headlights. Here’s a screenshot from that time frame:

[link to i.imgur.com]

At the 11:25 mark (11:14 his time), he talks about one hell of a venting. To me, it looks like a normal eruption. Here is a screenshot from that time frame:

[link to i.imgur.com]

At the 11:31 mark he makes reference to "since when does lightning come out of a damn vent hole." I'm not seeing any lightning in his video or the live streaming video.

At the 13:15 mark (11:16 his time) he talks about it lightening again. Here's the screenshot from that time frame:

[link to i.imgur.com]

Here is a screenshot from what I think is happening at the 14:17 (11:17 his time) mark:

[link to i.imgur.com]

At the 14:49 mark (11:17 his time), he think it's park people walking around. I'm pretty sure they are tourists. He goes on like they are walking around like it's nothing. If you watch the live stream video above, it is because there really is nothing going on.

I think it looks so dramatic on this guy's video because of the zooming in.

Thanks! hf I'm not sure what they would look like either, but it did cross my mind that he could have been seeing camera flashes. It is just so hard to know since he doesn't catch the whole screen at the time that the flashes are being seen.

Right now, I am in the process of uploading a video I did last night trying to recreate his video's anomalies. I even did it at the same time of night that he did his video. While I can't reproduce it exactly, I do see where focusing in closely on the small portions of the screen do produce an enhanced and more dramatic effect than what is being seen when the whole screen is in view and also more so than what is visible to the naked eye while watching at the same time.

I don't know why everyone is freaking so much about Yellowstone. It's common knowledge that we have at least another 15,000 years or more to go before it erupts again. Relax it's all ok.

The YouTube user who is responsible for this video, WheepingWillow2, is really not someone I would take with a grain of salt. I really wouldn't put any stock in any Yellowstone videos that this woman puts out. She also does videos as well under the handle of WheepingWillow3 and WheepingWillow2 4u now that her WheepingWillow2 account was flagged for harassing a corporation.

Her real name is Carol Roberts and she lives in Owensboro, KY. The reason that I am giving you this information is so that you can do a quick search on this nutjob. She is really just a professional victim who sues anybody and everybody for everything under the sun. You can go through her plethora of videos and it doesn't take long to figure it out either.

She is unstable as well. She has started a pissing war with me over my comments on another Yellowstone video of hers that resulted in my being blocked and then a string of profanity, irrational comments, and threats being thrown at me.

She has gone around all my Yellowstone videos that I made recreating the conditions in this original video claiming that they are hers and that I stole them from her. She's gone so far as to claim that I created my YouTube account just to stalk her and to steal her Yellowstone videos, which is obviously not true as it is perfectly clear that I created the account for documentation in my Walmart shipping container thread.

The funny thing is that those recreation videos were created specifically to be used here on GLP in this thread and 2 other threads that deal with her video. My first contact with her came about around June 17, 2015, a full 12 days after I made my first recreation video.

There are comments on my video below by other users who have also had horrific experiences with this woman as well. Her brother, Marblebuyer1, does "mock" videos of her that are absolutely hilarious and are well worth the watch!!

Re: yellowstone releases a fireball
I just realized that I didn't post those recreation videos in this thread for some reason at the time that I made them, so here they are. This first video was made on June 4, 2015:

Because that video was so shaky, I did make another on June 8, 2015:

Here's another one I made on June 17, 2015, but didn't get shared in any threads on GLP:

And another video I also made on June 17, 2015, that was a recreation video of known camera flashes from one of my prior videos that also never got shared on GLP:

WheepingWillow2 is a nutcase.
She is full of shit and a fearmonger.
She lies and makes videos that aren't true in attempts to get views.

Re: yellowstone releases a fireball

My first contact with her came about around June 20, 2015, a full 15 days after I made my first recreation video.

There are comments on my video below by other users who have also had horrific experiences with this woman as well. Her brother, Marblebuyer1, does "mock" videos of her that are absolutely hilarious and are well worth the watch!!

So glad to see I'm not the only one who has had experiences with her!
