Especially the red/blue lines at the bottom. I have been trying to research it myself for some time now but haven't found anything satisfactory enough. Those red/blue lines have been in the current, somewhat unusual mode, for almost two weeks now. I do not believe this is a sensor error as indicated in the explanation beneath the graph. Thanks in advance. [ link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] Quoting: Isis One It is dielectric charging. Higher energy electrons can penetrate deep inside the spacecraft and cause problems with the sensors due to a static charge build up. Electrons are what it is designed to monitor so it's not possible to shield them. It could be due to solar max, or I guess it's possible damage from a micrometeorite which have damaged one of the GOES sats before, but I don't think it's anything to be alarmed about. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 56205584 so, all of our instrumentation has been swamped, so we'll never see it coming?.... .
