How would you interpret this space-weather graph?
Especially the red/blue lines at the bottom. I have been trying to research it myself for some time now but haven't found anything satisfactory enough. Those red/blue lines have been in the current, somewhat unusual mode, for almost two weeks now. I do not believe this is a sensor error as indicated in the explanation beneath the graph. Thanks in advance.

Holy crap and they havent been that high as they are now.

The ones larger than 1 MeV are termed "killer electrons" and cause serious damage to satellites

I would think this is concerning

Re: How would you interpret this space-weather graph?
IT's the electron flux meter. We are getting a larger amount of electrons from our sun, resulting i believe from the 2 M class flares we are to take a glancing blow from. There's also a CME turnining it's way towards us. Nothin too crazy, but the M flares came from a region which is almost earth directed, so it's somethin to watch.

I would send that to Suspicious Observers--- the guy that does the 2-minute news.

ALSO, check his youtube videos. Maybe he has alsready posted something about that chart.

I have also never seen it like that!

Re: How would you interpret this space-weather graph?
This is a video released this A.M. by BPEArthwatch.
I'm noticing that the videos Suspicious Observer does
often down-plays the seriousness of the CMEs while
BP's are somewhat more specific. I think its because
Suspicious Observer is pressed for time and has to
hurry thru his material.
BP's video today gives a little bit better idea of how
serious this is and that the REAL PUNCH from these
7 events (so far) between dinner time last night
and this A.M. as he was making his video won't be
hitting us until 4/1 or 4/2. So this is going to
have to be a "Quake-WINDOW" of several days.

It is dielectric charging.
Higher energy electrons can penetrate deep inside the spacecraft and cause problems with the sensors due to a static charge build up.

Electrons are what it is designed to monitor so it's not possible to shield them.

It could be due to solar max, or I guess it's possible damage from a micrometeorite which have damaged one of the GOES sats before, but I don't think it's anything to be alarmed about.
