My first husband treated his mother like crap.......he also treated me like crap. He also abused animals. My second husband always treated his mother with love and respect; he treats me with love and respect. And while he is not an animal lover like I am, he is very compassionate towards them. Just think how great the world would be if we all treated each other and our fellow creatures as we ourselves like to be treated......  What if you are a masochist? Should they treat animals the way they want to be treated?  ^^^^^^^ A REAL man! Would you save a drowning animal before a human? I hope to high heaven I am never in a situation to choose between any living being. I remember a movie, I can't remember the name of it right now, but it was about the holocaust and how a mother had to choose between her two children. That would have destroyed me. And I heard another story where a man and his dog were lost in the wilderness and were both starving. The guy killed his dog and ate it. The dog obviously could have killed him first and eaten him, but didn't. The dog was loyal onto death.... To me that speaks much more highly of the dog, than the man. I would NEVER, EVER eat my dog or horse or any animal to survive.
