Quoting: Face Palmer "I think we'll find E.T. within two dozen years using these sorts of experiments," Shostak said here Thursday (Feb. 6) during a talk at the 2014 NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) symposium at Stanford University. "Instead of looking at a few thousand star systems, which is the tally so far, we will have looked at maybe a million star systems" 24 years from now, Shostak said. "A million might be the right number to find something." [link to www.space.com] Rumors have it, intelligent life on earth will discovered shortly after. "Could be found" as in we haven't found any yet. Let's ignore the many many eye witnesses, that saw and encountered the big winged reptilians. Lets ignore the menstruating females and blood-busses chased by the flying reptilians. Lets ignore the coverups with men in black, and the accompanied ufo observations. |

What is your personal opinion about our contact with aliens? Seeing that this website relayed tons of 'evidence' about aliens being real and them being here already for a very long time. My opinion? People fail to realize how big the universe is. Our milkyway is 100,000 lightyears across. If any alien race could travel with 100 times the speed of light, it will still take them about 100 years to get here. One way. Lets put aside the risks of traveling at such high speed. Any tiny particle would blow your spacecraft up at this speed when hitting. Lets assume shields. If we consider they are coming from a different Galaxy, times get exponentially longer. If we assume the aliens come from the next bigger galaxy, Andromeda, they will need 25,000 years to get here. At 100 times the speed of light. One way. Plus what would they probably want here? I mean if all the odds don't matter, there should be much more interesting places within the radius we discussed above. So, long story short: Alien life may exists somewhere, but we will probably never find out. Unless we invent some technique to bend time and space. I'm not talking about air or friction. Any object of the smallest size (think little comets for the narrow minded or sunstorms) would literally blow right through your ship. And each person inside your universe is really a representation of yourself . This is going on for everyone meaning THERE IS NO ONE EARTH. THERE IS ONLY THE AGREEMENT of a illusion of ONE EARTH. So when you say ETS your really looking for yourself. And when you do find ETS inside your parallel universe THEY WILL HAVE KNOWN that YOU are just AN EXTENSION OF Them ! its a funky situation but we gotta except the ACTUALITY of EXISTENCE mhmm |

Just the galaxy is a big place, granted, but Shostak is banking on a number (about a million) as being an amount of scanned planets/systems that would yield signs of intelligent life. The number is no more than a guess with nothing to back it up. Then - he is assuming that the intelligent aliens will have devised some form of EM comms... even that EM comms is indicative of intelligence. This is anthropocentric and doesn't allow for other types of intelligent development which might not use EM comms at all. Pretty meaningless in the end, but I guess you've got to start somewhere. |
