I come from a Catholic family. I went to Catholic school and I don't ever remember anyone pushing our religion on anyone, so I find this odd when people say this. Do I believe in God, of course. Do I go to church rarely. There is a reason behind that though. Could I spend every waking day talking about God? I don't think so.

Not to be mean or judge, but I know many people who feel Christian's are one way in church and the opposite in reality. Hope I am using the right words here. For example... a friend who goes to church, but always wears the tightest, lowest cut shirt she can find so her boobs are practically hanging out. Then she bends over in front of your husband's, so they can have a peak. The guy who goes to church who gives you the finger and starts tail gating you out of anger. I mean I could go on... I am sure their are many that are not like that. Just all the ones I know.

I also had many Christians wanting me to attend their church. When I say I am Catholic they say well you believe in God... yes, but I don't call myself a Christian, I call myself a Catholic. Two different things IMO.

Sorry if I offended anyone. I know I am not everyone's cup of tea, I would rather be their shot of tequila instead. LOL

5)You also must LOOK like the world...dress like the world..act like the world...set your church up to look like a rock concert hall..and fornicate and divorce and sleep around with all the women in the church..all the while condemning others of the world who do this. Maybe the reason you are questioning is bc you havn't had a tangible experience with God. I was the same way. What you need is the tangible experience with him. When you have that you will no longer question your faith. Pray: Father I come before you in the name of your son Jesus Christ to ask you for forgiveness of all my sins. Jesus I accept you as my savior please come into my heart and fill me with your presence. Holy Spirit fill me and make sensitive to you. I do not want religion but a relationship with you in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Put some christian music on and see what happens.

Jesus is very real. We must ask Him into our hearts and ask Him to forgive our sins and take our sins onto His account so that they will be forgiven and we can be made Righteous or we will certainly not be allowed into Heaven.

I'm sorry you are having such a tough time. I can tell you that Jesus is real. I do think that there are some things in the churches that we don't have absolutely right. The Bible is a very difficult book to understand and there are secret things that God has not revealed to us.

Still, I assume you think that the Christians are prudes or there are too many rules, that kind of thing. I don't think that God is a prude at all and He doesn't have too many rules. His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

I wish you could trust God and have a personal relationship with Him and with Lord Jesus and Lord Holy Spirit. I talk to them just like I talk to you or anyone else and I tell them what I'm going through, and what I see and think about. They go with me everywhere I go and they never leave me, even when I'm being a crazy bitch and they love me.

It's the best being with Father and Lord Jesus and Lord Ruach Hakodesh. Being a Christian is about that relationship with The Lord, not about religion and church like many churches teach. I hear ya OP! And am so happy that you have come to this point at such a young age. Many (like me) don't reach this point of awareness until much older, I am 59.

No, I do not think it's wrong to question what you were brought up to believe. Seems you are simply trying to understand what it is that you were taught, and what (if any of it) you wish to continue with, or reject, as important for your adult life.

In my own quest for what is right for me, for my sons, (and it took years...) what I realized is that I am in agreement with what I was taught from the Bible.. and not so much (ok, none) of what I was taught about the church's add-on rules. It was those unwritten add-on rules that were making my life miserable. Freed myself from those, concentrating on my own walk with God Himself, according to what the Bible says.

Now? My quest has swung in the direction of WHAT Bible is the real Bible, the right one to follow? Have pretty much settled on 'the real' King James version (there are SO many different versions!).. And it's The Authorized King James Version (KJV) of 1611. One can even download it for free online, at:

I appreciate the upbringing that I had in my Christian family. It gave me a solid basis in deciding as an adult now, what kind of beliefs/values I continue with, and teach to my children/grandchildren.

One thing I am finding out tho, is that 'the church' I was raised in, sorta kinda LEFT OUT, re-arranged, mis-interpreted, and etc, a whole lot of stuff that originally was in 'The Bible', and/or is still included. The more I find out, the more I feel...... cheated.... in my childhood. And that just pisses me off!
