User ID: 36421936 United States 07/18/2013 03:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I know I'm an old fart, but what's happened to comedy movies? I was watching Ghostbusters the other day with my kids and that movie is hysterical. I just don't find the newer crop nearly as funny. Quoting: *Rhombus* What's your favorite comedy from the 70s-90s? Agreed. Too much of today's live-actor comedy movies are just too stupid to be funny. Ghostbusters was epic. The Blues Brothers and Blazing Saddles were awesome. Dragnet with Dan Aykroyd was pretty good. Today, the best comedies are cartoons like Despicable Me. That was a hilarious movie. "God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787 |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 628775 But Goonies was also a good one. LOVE that movie! It's a holiday tradition every year along with The Holy Grail (although I can't remember why we watch that one at Christmas). I don't know where you get your delusions, laser brain. |

I love comedies from the 80s, they had a more innocent vibe to them, comedy today is too jaded. Summer Rental is another favorite of mine |
