Gold and silver retain their value and only fluctuate in their exchange rate against fiat currency.

Anybody who owns gold and silver will always ride.

I see this posted in so many econ threads especially with large fluctuations in the markets.

more specifically what does "riding" imply, earning money or having your assets appreciate in value? I'm a dummy so thanks for working with me guys.

If you are into silver, you will always ride. Since all fundamentals point at a rise in price of gold and silver, we will ride the price anywhere.

ah nice! thanks for the mostly serious responses guys.

I'm not too sure I understand papertards but I do understand the gold/silver terminology. I wish I could join you guys but I don't have enough capital for investment. plus I'd probably just end up with the worthless paper since I don't know any physical sellers. but again thanks for the explanations it helps quite a bit

You don't need to be rich. Pick up some silver eagles at your local coin shop. They are reasonably priced now if you can find them.
