Development of sunspot complex AR 1520
The sunspot has a delta-class magnetic field that harbors energy for X-class solar flares also is in our direction from today ..

The Sun have very low activity last days but probably we will see stronger activity in next days and X flare to time 1520 leave our view ..

Some images ..

Think we will have stronger seizmic activity in next days and EQ of M 7.0 + to time this sunspot complex leave our view, possible dangerous location somewhere around Peru, S_C_N America off coast, around Fiji-Tonga-Vanuatu area, Japan ..

Possibility of 60% for M-class and 63% X-class solar flare ..

[link to spaceweather.inf.brad.ac.uk]

From spaceweather, 80% M flare and 15% X flare ..

We have X-class flare before 5 min, it's X 1.4 ..

It's Earth directed from complex 1520 ..

For now we have this interesting EQ's, think we will have M 7.2 + in next 4 days or time sunspot complex 1520 leave our view ..

Comet is also visible on L C3 ..

Between July 12-17, 2012, comet 96P/Machholz will be visible in the SOHO LASCO/C3 field of view and will brighten to about magnitude +2. Also, it should be visible from both STEREO A and B between July 13-15 and it comes to perihelion on July 14, 2012. The comet will not make another close approach to the Earth until 2028, when it will pass at a distance of 0.319 AU (47,700,000km; 29,700,000 miles).

Yes,

Huge fukoff sunspots which link to our defenceless little globe via magnetic vortex loops

see NASA's JPL site for explanation

Our own sun's flares are usually only powerful enough to disrupt radio communications on Earth, but a new sunspot group - AR 1520 - is one of the biggest in years, and may bombard Earth next week.

Re: Development of sunspot complex AR 1520
The Carrington EventOn the morning of September 1, 1859, amateur astrologer Richard Carrington ascended into the private observatory attached to his country estate outside of London. After cranking open the dome’s shutter to reveal the clear blue sky, he pointed his brass telescope toward the sun and began to sketch a cluster of enormous dark spots that freckled its surface. Suddenly, Carrington spotted what he described as “two patches of intensely bright and white light” erupting from the sunspots. Five minutes later the fireballs vanished, but within hours their impact would be felt across the globe.

That night, telegraph communications around the world began to fail; there were reports of sparks showering from telegraph machines, shocking operators and setting papers ablaze. All over the planet, colorful auroras illuminated the nighttime skies, glowing so brightly that birds began to chirp and laborers started their daily chores, believing the sun had begun rising. Some thought the end of the world was at hand, but Carrington’s naked eyes had spotted the true cause for the bizarre happenings: a massive solar flare with the energy of 10 billion atomic bombs. The flare spewed electrified gas and subatomic particles toward Earth, and the resulting geomagnetic storm—dubbed the “Carrington Event”—was the largest on record to have struck the planet.

Bright Flare, Dark Lines
Compared to today’s information superhighway, the telegraph system in 1859 may have been a mere dirt road, but the “Victorian Internet” was also a critical means of transmitting news, sending private messages and engaging in commerce. Telegraph operators in the United States had observed local interruptions due to thunderstorms and northern lights before, but they never experienced a global disturbance like the one-two punch they received in the waning days of summer in 1859.

The R3 (Strong) Radio Blackout today at 12:49 EDT (1649 UTC) was accompanied by an earth-directed CME. Hampered by limited observations of the event, SWPC forecasters are now anticipating the passage of the CME around 1:00 a.m. EDT, Saturday, July 14. G1 (minor) Geomagnetic Storm activity is expected to then ensue through the rest of the day. An S1 (minor) Solar Radiation Storm is now occurring, also a consequence of the flare/CME. The parent active region, NOAA 1520, appears to have retained its ability to erupt, so watch for more. Updates here.

As the stress and resultant strain accumulates, it ultimately exceeds the shear strength of the rock mass in the fault zone or the shear strength of the fault itself and causes a brittle failure or rupture to occur. This causes sudden movement, fracturing of the rock mass and a sudden release of the accumulated elastic strain energy in the form of seismic waves, heat and sound.

Re: Development of sunspot complex AR 1520

 Quoting: ThaSaltineCracka

However, it has never been demonstrated that there is a causal relationship between space weather and earthquakes. Indeed, over the course of the Sun's 11-year variable cycle, the occurrence of flares and magnetic storms waxes and wanes, but earthquakes occur without any such 11-year variability. Since earthquakes are driven by processes in the Earth's interior, they would occur even if solar flares and magnetic storms were to somehow cease occurring.
