71,000 left to die * Media Blackout * Where's All Our Information?
Hours after the tsunami struck, Katsunobu Sakurai sought advice from the government on whether to evacuate the 71,000 people in his city, which is just 12 miles downwind of the Fukushima nuclear plant.

.... I was asked to edit this post and provide the link. I can't provide the link because it's a link that places a warning when I try to link it. As I'm not sure what to do about that... you'll have to possibly search the mayor's name to find the article~???1dunno1

So this is the real truth of the situation.??? This article is from today. I'm thinking it's their Monday over there, so this guy just started evacuating the city 3 days ago, and has vowed to stay until everyone is gone.

Can you imagine how difficult it must be to organize the evacuation of your city, without the help of your government?

I guess MSM decided to take a break today, go out and enjoy the weather, because there is only backstage reporting going on thus far.

Each time a person stands for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he or she sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. And crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. Few are willing to embrace the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change. I'm just dying to know what's going on with those reactors.

The latest information everyone has seen by now shows they have tested ... hmmm hmmm... less than healthy levels of radiation up to 75 miles away from the FUKU plant... in spinach. So... how far is the radiation being tested for? Is 75 miles the cap they put on things since they widened the barrier to 80KM yesterday? Maybe they're only testing 80KM, I say they test further, I'd like more information on that.

Just waiting to hear the same for our west and pacific coastlines.

Re: 71,000 left to die * Media Blackout * Where's All Our Information?
Could there at last be a flicker of good news from Japan? On Saturday, Japanese officials announced that last-ditch efforts to stabilize the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant that was damaged by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami might be achieving a modicum of success. Engineers said they had connected a power cable to the plant, possibly allowing pumps to begin flowing water into cooling pools surrounding dangerously overheating nuclear fuel rods and spent fuel containers. The operation will only work, however, if the pumps were not too damaged by the earthquake. So far, two of the reactor's power cables have been re-established, that of Nos. 1 and 2 out of a total of six.

Still the threat level from the damaged plant remains very high. Of particular concern is reactor No. 3, where a spent nuclear fuel pool is reaching high heat levels. If fuel rods or spent fuel gets too hot, it can explode or otherwise send radioactive matter into the air. So far, the plant has already suffered explosions and fires, sending gusts of radioactivity into the atmosphere.

Sure in the hell isn't any information that appears to be new since I finally fell out last night from following all this at about 2:30 am CST.

Does anyone have any information about a media pullout?

Re: 71,000 left to die * Media Blackout * Where's All Our Information?
The power has been restored to #5 and #6, and is just a ploy to get out some "good news" -- those two reactors weren't in crisis.

You think that MSM actually are news sources. They are not. They merely disseminate the news, they do not gather it. That is why they have their reporters (personalities/celebrities) stand in front of a green screen doing interviews. They aren't digging to find out what is occurring, they are repackaging it, polishing it up, and putting a bow on it. The competition among news organizations is for who can offer the prettiest presentation.

You MAY get that level of reporting from a small news organization that hasn't sold out to a big corporation, but they are increasingly rare. Most of the time, they rely on "feeds" of information which they then report. The MSM doesn't need to be controlled, you only need to control the feed. This would be the AP and Reuters. Second would be places where individuals could provide information to the public. Places like here.

It would quite easy to threaten or even bribe the ownership to give out IP addresses, and then the shills go about posting veiled threats to individual users -- messages that look stupid or nonsensical to others, but to you says, "We know who you are, so stop posting." I suspect that many people on GLP have been identified in this manner and we'll see a drop in posting. There was one user yesterday who said that the military was monitoring this site and that they had been identified and given the message to stop posting here.

You should stop looking at MSM as giving you real information, and start looking at it as what they want you to know. Right now, they don't want you to know what is going on in Japan. This means the situation is probably very grave.

You'll also notice a great deal of bots in here, disrupting any threads which are "threatening" to the paradigm. Look at any thread about something casual, and there is very little activity by the bots -- most have none at all. The bots are directed at threads which contain information about Japan or Libya.

I appreciate the heads up... but they'll have to take me kicking and screaming. I'm not quiet. Not in real life, and not on here. I don't go around pushing people around, or shoving something down their throat if they don't wanna know about it. But I damn sure will not let my children fall victim to their political fucking nightmares they constantly create. I am logged in, under my real isp, and you know... well... I guess if they send me a letter telling me to stop posting, I'm gonna fucking blow it up and paste it on a billboard. No... they'll come at me with more than that, or won't come at all, because they'll know when they pull my information, that I will not go quietly into the night.

No warnings needed about the grave situation. I don't tend to trust the MSM, but it is a way to identify markers in what's really going on. I know they are ministers of propoganda, God, that's become my favorite word. !!! We are free, in our hearts we are free. They cannot take from me what I will refuse to give. My ancestry is long, in serving this country, my ancestry and men fighting and dying for this country dates back to well before it was even A country. That is the right I stand on, to be able to use my own head to find the information I need to feel protected to the best of MY PERSONAL ability, and the rest that disagree, can kiss my Texas Ass!
