Don't eat sweet potatos or even sweet potatoes.

They will kill you with mycotoxin.

Mycotoxins.... this is what I was talking about in my thread about sweet potatoes. I had bought sweet potatoes in an African store that were imported from Uganda, but some had black areas inside them (not just spots, whole areas) that were obviously caused by fungi since this is exactly what those black areas were smelling of. You actually could smell the fungus.

To think that guy was actually selling sweet potatoes with mycotoxins in them... luckily I cut out those black parts before cooking the sweet potatoes.

Thread: Sweet potatoes

Mycotoxins are naturally occurring toxins produced by certain moulds (fungi) and can be found in food.

The moulds grow on a variety of different crops and foodstuffs including cereals, nuts, spices, dried fruits, apples and coffee beans, often under warm and humid conditions.

Mycotoxins can cause a variety of adverse health effects and pose a serious health threat to both humans and livestock.

The adverse health effects of mycotoxins range from acute poisoning to long-term effects such as immune deficiency and cancer.

Just FYI you have to be careful of white potatoes too.

Sorry for source but it's an interesting and sad story:

Life is a spiritual war and no matter where we lay our head, we live in a warzone.

There will be casualties.

You do get to choose your side. I chose the Bright Side where my God fights for me.

Others chose the Dark Side and fight for an entity that views them with disdain and discards them.

Thanks.

Even coffee beans can get mouldy. I have drunk coffee in cafes or restaurants that had a mouldy taste to it, but not very strong.

However (I just noticed by looking at your link), what you are talking about actually rotten potatoes - not just mouldy.
