I have no idea how to read that lol...

These buoys measure changes in water heights. They are tsunami buoys. When they go into event mode... it just means that there was an unexpected change in water column height. Sometimes this can happen when it's hit by the seismic wave - it doesn't ALWAYS mean tsunami. Being that it is in the region... I thought I should post it here.

Just had a thought. EQ's under 4.5 aren't listed outside the USA on USGS site. Maybe USGS considered the EQ of 4.8 reported by EMSC to be less than 4.5 - thus not included in their list??

I sometimes think when they downgrade quakes that they are just covering it up and the previous mag is the actual magnitude and the downgrade is just to keep people not worried...I could be paranoid though lol

I totally agree.

They just said a tsunami warning on the weather channel. Trying to find it on the internet.

I'm not very good with those graphs... but it looks like earth rang like a bell with those quakes! Isn't that normal after a large EQ though?
