The UN Human Rights Council has been meeting to determine some of the fundamental procedures that will be used by the body in years to come. It is proposed that "country-specific “special procedures”—the special experts, representatives and rapporteurs who investigate human rights abuses in particular countries—be abolished, particularly those assigned to Cuba, Belarus, Burma and North Korea."[21] Another issue being considered is "whether outside experts and nongovernmental organizations will be able to play a key role in the review; currently, documents provided by the state in question appear to comprise the bulk of the evidence used for the review."[21]


So here - the so called authority on human rights proposed that they should just stop investigating Cuba,Belarus,Burma & North Korea!!

As of January 24, 2008, Israel had been condemned 15 times in less than two years. The UN Human Rights Council, like its predecessor the UN Human Rights Commission, has been criticized by some Western countries for its fixation on Israel while ignoring the actions of neighboring states. This has led to accusations of the organization being anti-Israeli.[32] By April 2007, the Council had passed nine resolutions condemning Israel, the only country which it had specifically condemned.[33][34] Toward Sudan, another country with human rights abuses as documented by the Council's working groups, it has expressed "deep concern."[33]

So the organization you quote has condemned Israel 15 times.
Yet Sudan who has just exterminated 300,000 people - has only been condemned once.

1) For a start, Only the International criminal court can pass this judgment, The United Nations Human rights Council has no power to 'condemn' a nation.

2)According to the ICC, crimes against Humanity as defined as follow:

(j) The crime of apartheid;
(k) Other inhumane acts of a similar character intentionally causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or to mental or physical health.

Now for you to prove that 'crimes against humanity' are indeed happening - you must show that any of the following acts are happening in a widespread or systematic way

And according to the Rome Statute Explanatory Memorandum:

The Rome Statute Explanatory Memorandum states that crimes against humanity

are particularly odious offenses in that they constitute a serious attack on human dignity or grave humiliation or a degradation of one or more human beings. They are not isolated or sporadic events, but are part either of a government policy (although the perpetrators need not identify themselves with this policy) or of a wide practice of atrocities tolerated or condoned by a government or a de facto authority.


However, murder, extermination, torture, rape, political, racial, or religious persecution and other inhumane acts reach the threshold of crimes against humanity only if they are part of a widespread or systematic practice.

Isolated inhumane acts of this nature may constitute grave infringements of human rights, or depending on the circumstances, war crimes, but may fall short of meriting the stigma attaching to the category of crimes under discussion. On the other hand, an individual may be guilty of crimes against humanity even if he perpetrates one or two of the offences mentioned above, or engages in one such offense against only a few civilians, provided those offenses are part of a consistent pattern of misbehavior by a number of persons linked to that offender (for example, because they engage in armed action on the same side or because they are parties to a common plan or for any similar reason.)
