Anonymous Coward User ID: 865858 Spain 01/15/2010 11:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | go to the ER. even a highly trained person in sports medicine wouldn't attempt to reset their own dislocated joint. the pain could be so great you pass out and hit your head and either have permanent brain damage or death. go to the ER. they know what they are doing and they've done this many times before. |

Fair enough. Dr., 1. To alter and make impure, as with the intention to deceive Quibble, 1. To evade the truth or importance of an issue by raising trivial distinctions and objections. Dr. Quibble To alter and make impure the evasion of truth or importance of an issue with the intention to deceptively raise trivial distinctions and objections. Not everything in this world is serious... some of it is a joke. "Cursed with being wickedly british" "Narcissist" - I wear it like a medal. It is infact the sane that are weak with closed minds, only those outside the norm can see the truth. |

Quoting: Dr. QuibbleAt first I thought it was just aching a bit, I tend to ignore pain as i have it often. After i got an itch there i went to scratch it and noticed the bone sticking up about 3/4 of an inch compared to the other. Now suggestions.. Should i attempt to relocate it myself and if so how should i go about it. Or wait till morning comes and get a lift down to the A&E? NOT YET!! You can try muscle relaxers and just take it easy for a few days and see what happens....or: This too may work, stand up, bend over at the hip and let your arm dangle, take a 20lb weight (more or less depending on your strength) and let it hang straight down, relax the shoulder as much as you can and rotate it both counter clockwise and clockwise, this can get it back in place. You need to be pretty sure you didn't tear your rotator cuff, if you stand up and can't lift your arm at all then this could be the case, if it's just a dislocation you should be fine in a few days though you most likely stretched tendons and pulled muscles, this hurts, but heals quickly once back in place. Good luck!! |

Good luck!! I'll try it, doesn't look like it can make it worse and seems a gentle approach. It's not the rotator cuff. |
