When is the Last Time You Did a Random Act of Kindness?

Since there's so much doom and gloom, I'm hoping this thread might hang around a long time to help the balancing act between good and evil.

After I've done a random kindness act, I feel soooo great although I don't think about that while I'm doing it and it's not the reason I did it. I'm sure the person I've helped feels just as exhilarated. And when that rare act is done for me - phew!! - blows me away cuz it's so seldom.

Think about the small things you've done and share them here. Just reading about acts of kindness can help change your day!!

Otay. I'll go first.

A lady was pushing two shopping carts from store to parking lot and having a terrible time (if she left one behind, it would probably be stolen before she could go get it).

I had a cart too, but I went to help and together we wrangled those three carts to her car. She was shocked and amazed I would come to help which I guess in this city is sorta unusual. She was shopping for the office - doing a kind deed for her co-workers, so I was extra glad I'd helped.

I got a bunch of mylar/helium balloons for my surprise birthday party at my job (when I had a wonderful job - now I've got zip). As I was driving home, I passed by a young Latina woman with two small children walking down the street.

I pulled over, jumped out and in Spanish said these are for your little ones. You should have seen their faces. It was so fine. This was an esp. kind act for me to do because I'd bet a million she was illegal and the 2 kids were US anchors, which whole setup I absolutely detest. But I saw the opportunity and did it because I am not prejudice, I only hate the politics and destruction coming down from on high.

Heck, if someone merely holds a door open for me, I'm grateful. So many just slam it on you like you're invisible. I wish there were more random acts of kindness going on - it could be contagious!!

I would like to give thanks right now for all of those people who have helped me and for those who are helping others. Pass it ON!!

Got any stories?
