Sun Dogs and a Smile in the Sky to Brighten Your Day

Today has been a nice, breezy day after almost a week of gloom and rain.

As I was outside working on field fences today I looked up and saw a long sweeping cirrus cloud with the beginnings of a right parhelion (sun dog) so I got my camera and sat outside to see if it would make any other ice crystal phenomenon.

Sure enough a left parhelion, a partial 22° halo, a 120° parhelion and finally, a circumzenith arc formed overhead...looking like a big smile in the sky.

In just a few short minutes they were all gone, the cirrus cloud had passed by.

I just wanted to bring a bit of beauty to this dark evil time, today.
