Former GATE/TAG/CTY kid. I don't know what my IQ technically was, but I was ranked as exceptionally gifted. Participating in GATE wasn't really a choice. There were about 7 or 8 of us that I recall. I reached out to a couple friends after seeing this thread and having curiosity around why I cannot recall the lessons or work done in GATE very well. This post seriously confirmed for me how much I Belong here. Want to add in.. FOX is the name of the finals club to whom GATES belonged at school. Start doing your genealogy as far back as you can. At one point you will be totally blown away at the person you discover is your ancestor, and all your questions will be answered. You will know for sure why they were doing the culling and the investigating. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 48818885 I started doing the research this last year and you are on point with this feedback. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78234390 Moved to Ohio they had no such thing. The teacher couldn't believe how far ahead I was. Why what does this mean? I was put in the gifted program in the 5th grade. Only a couple of others from my school were in the program. All the "gifted" students in the school district would be bussed once a week to the "technical center". He we were given a battery of tests, and Projects were assigned. My family moved to another school district when I was in seventh grade. Within a few months, I had been "recommended" by 3 separate teachers for the TAG "Talented and gifted" program. In high school, this program was my home room and also two periods of each day were devoted to TAG all four years. Most of my freinds were from Tag program in high school. It was nice because I never had to take an "English" class the whole 4 years as Tag fulfilled the English requirement. Lots of testing. Lots of interest from school psychologist "especially in middle school". |

Both sides of my family are dead ends when it comes to genealogy - my father was adopted and my mother's side is not very forthcoming with family information, other than a known connection to WWII-era British intelligence. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71325079 I don't remember if this was one of the scenarios but I do recall being presented with example scenarios and being asked what the outcome might be. They had us workshopping lifeboat ethics which I remember taking very seriously. As with other experiments I also recognized at the time the subject was psychologically disturbing for some of my classmates, perhaps myself as well. Ironically the current covid transition play had me rechecking this thread to seek higher signal input. Sifting through most GLP threads has to be tedious for most of us. I'm in awe with the level of manufactured misplaced fear. I'd prefer fear-inducing frequencies being used on tech devices in addition to overt media control. I gleaned from a covid thread few days ago, a thought I already had but wished not to post for its darkness. The masking of everyone in public along with six feet creates almost complete anonymization and dehumanization of society. Obviously parallel to women wearing burqas and to the extreme end Guantanamo Bay type prisoners with full abduction head coverings. Searching "Guantanamo Bay prisoner uniform" this is the first image that comes up: [link to www.amnesty.org.uk (secure)] Bit ashamed I didn't know till now. From what we know I'd say it wouldn't be poor taste to use this image as witness not only for the unknown political prisoners around the world but also for where most of society can be headed. For me it was "A Wrinkle In Time". Glad to have you join us. Just remember, it's all ancient history now. Thanks, I can't wait to read through this thread, though it sounds kind of ominous. I guess I'll find out they did something bad to us? Hope not! That was the book read in our 5th grade class. Still a couple of years before the 'MGM' program. 'Tesseract'? Some form of that was in use still in the late 80's. I remember it pretty clearly. Curious if any of the other MGM/GATE kids can read upside down and backward at nearly full-speed? I attribute that to the hours spent on that software. I read by rapid pattern recognition, doesn't matter if the pattern is flipped or rotated. |
