For those of you just finding this topic, understand that this thread is a deep rabbit hole, and that there is no "payoff" to be found.

At best, it was an irresponsible teaching experiment with roots in eugenics.

At worst...well, that's the part none of us have ever been able to answer.

The ability to learn is very dependent on G Factor and not IQ. The speed of the learning is also qualitative and quantitative which makes measuring intelligence to a value
very difficult.

A basic outline
50+ Educable, can learn to care for oneself, employable in routinized jobs but require supervision.
70+ Limited trainability. Have difficulty with everyday demands like using a phone book, reading bus or train schedules, banking, etc.
80+ Can perform explicit routinized hands-on tasks without supervision as long as there are no moments of choice and it is always clear what has to be done. Assembler, food service. Some people assume you need an IQ of 85 to understand the "Golden Rule"
90+ Able to learn a trade in a hands-on manner and perform tasks involving decisions. Craftsman, sales, police officer, clerk.
An IQ of 100 is generally necessary to learn from written materials.
110+ can learn in "college" format. Manager, teacher, accountant.
120+ Capable of gathering and inferring own information. Master degrees.
130+ May just be able to write a legible piece of text like an article or modest novel. Minor literary figures. Ph.D. in the "soft" sciences.
140+ Capable of rational communication and scientific work.

Once armed with this knowledge, compare this chart to IQ by country.

Be afraid, because the expectation is civilization collapses if the average IQ is under 90. It's the West propping up the rest of the world which is responsible for the level of civilization we see today.

Very curious what other MGM/GATE/Etc students think of current events. I have some theories, that are *mostly* supported by the limited available evidence. I'll spill them if there's any interest. I do think we're all about to be in a world of serious s*** here shortly.

I was in GATE. I don't remember most of GATE. It wasn't in California. It was in the South. I moved around a bit and always ended up in GATE.

I did speech therapy.

The high speed images on a tv strikes a chord. But I only get the impression of a memory. Like sitting in a small room with no windows. There is one of those folding tables with the faux wood finish. The tv is that ugly beige color and bulky but didn't look like a normal tv like I had at home. I don't remember what was on the screen.

I do remember being shown videos from Nazi Germany experiments when I was in middle school. It was traumatic and very graphic.

Do you all think your local school board transferred your GATE/TAG metrics to the state superintendents who then later transferred your metrics and background information to the department of ed and/or mil research or universities?

To that end...do you think you are still under observation?

I was thinking that...maybe the TAG/GATE kids were exposed to something via vaccination and parents were unaware they consented to biomedical research long term studies.

I am fairly certain some percentage of gifted children were targeted for gangstalking as adults but no clue as to why unless they are the real Indigo Children.

I know I was watched for a long time. Some of it had to do with my Grandpa who was high up in the DOE. Some of it I'm not really sure.

I was repeatedly offered jobs in the government. I worked for the government private sector.

Spooks or sneaky squirrels trend to run in families. My reasoning for this is because they would rather go with known people rather than unknowns. If you've been watched all your life, then they know you.

I think if I wanted to go back I would be welcomed with open arms. I am not sure I could handle it though. My previous job left me very paranoid (understandably so).

FWIW... I requested my school docs some time ago. They would only turn over 1 piece of paper mentioning my participation in the program which was correspondence between my teacher and Johns Hopkins University when I was in 7th grade. Said no other records existed. I asked if there was a way to contact my teacher and they stated that she had retired years ago and had no contact info because she wasn't faculty - ie she was not an employee of the school district.

Interesting, no? Exactly who was she working for? Why were they interested in me?

I rode the short bus and was in special ed mostly beat you guys up for your lunch money.

I was living in Englewood FL. I have an extremely weird memory and cannot make sense of it. My friend for whatever reason had a pass where we were able to leave class, and we would go into a faculty break room. She had been there several times before she took me. We ate food and goofed off? I remember eating those hostess cupcakes, but I do remember hiding in a cabinet for some reason, I do not remember any adults. But I do feel we got caught and got in trouble or told not to come back.

I just find it strange as adult looking back as to why we had a pass and a secret room at an elementary school.

I don't have any memories of abuse but maybe my friend was being abused or groomed.??

Anyway I wonder if parents realize thier children were being taken out of class,or given passes to leave. And more Importantly is this still being done today.

I believe I was one of the first year's crop of kiddos. I remember they taught us how to speed read, which was a big thing in 1971.

It worked too well. I cannot read slowly. Ever. Sometimes I want to read every word and savor it, but it's like fighting with my brain.

Speed reading is great for fact gathering, but it sucks for literary enjoyment.

They had something like that in our elementary school. I was told I was five grades higher in aptitude. This was in Detroit so I already knew that!

Yes. I started in 1969-70. I remember people brought in a weird TV set (computer? it was 1970) to test me on something or other. I remember the principal and counselor were present too. I don't remember the test itself, but I remember that it was so easy that I was offended. My dad was military so I often had more than one school in the school year, but dang, they kept track of me. Different schools had better/worse programs, but the puzzles were a constant, and I got the same MGM teacher/people a lot of the time. I also like the personalized learning - I got to "help" the librarian and do my own 2pg reports on anything I wanted. I loved getting out of that noisy classroom.I was removed from class for testing many times in elementary school, not so much middle school.
